This is the story of our good friend Iain's Pontiac build. If you recognise him, thats probably because you've seen our HQ build or our Subarute we did with Roadkill a few years back. We hope you enjoy this video as much as he's enjoying the womp.

Thanks so much to Marty & MOOG for letting me take over Super Garage with this giant barge of a car, and to all my mates who've helped me put this thing together. I also need to publicly thank my wife and family for sticking by me through all the trials and tribulations of these cars. When it comes to building cars the most valuable thing you can have isn't a big tool chest or unlimited budget - it is the support of your friends and family, so I can never thank mine enough for helping me get this giant hooptie running.

This stopped me in my tracks. I’ve always seen Iain as a joker, a fun bloke. I just saw the serious side of him. Sounds like he has experienced some hardships on deeper levels than given over here. Can we have more of this stuff? It kind of adds to what Super Garage is about from your intro to the project a couple of years ago.

I've never been a fan of big American yank tanks. But what I am a fan of is stories like this. Doesn't matter what the car, bike, boat or whatever is, the passion someone like Iain has for their project, the love and commitment and time put in is what makes it amazing and kept me glued to the screen. Hope we can see more videos like this in the future.

My Dad had some Pontiac shells when we were growing up in the 80's and I always loved the shape of them. This one is definitely a unique combo oof engine and gearbox, and it's turned out so great. That color looks amazing even on film, so I'm sure it's even better in person. Thank-you for sharing your story. I'm so glad your mates were there for you when you needed them. Good friends are worth their weight in gold for real. Yours probably saved your life. I've lost too many mates to depression. Like I always tell people though, leaving doesn't mean it can't get worse, it only guarantees it will NEVER get any better. Thanks for fighting through and finishing this amazing ride. I hope she serves you well for many decades.

This is a main channel production. When I say production I mean this is epic. The story, the details, edit, and audio. There seems to be a quality to the video or cameras that is noticeable from the first frame. Iain is clearly a comfortable, concise narrator and presenter due to his experiences. Love the car, love the experience, love the journey.

Great presentation guys. Simply beautiful. I can feel for Iain's first trip in the Bonneville. I spent 8 years remodeling a 1981 Airstream trailer. The first trip out in the fall of 2021 was sheer, white-knuckle terror for two hours. Unhitching it at our camp spot never felt so good. Since then, we've taking it on almost 5,000 miles on trips up and down the Eastern US coast. Love our "Belle."

What a beautiful story. There's been plenty of cars in my life that I should have had much more love for, but they fell short. Then, there's these weirdos that inexplicitly have captured my heart. I've regretted selling them every day, but now I understand why. Them, like me were in a tough, trying point, looking for answers to the future. You know what, videos like this help us realize we found them. We may be separated, but the emotion remains.

I felt every word he said. I am sooo close to the first start of my project. My high school car. I graduated in 86. Last on the road late 80’s. Lockdown happened just after I started the build. I have learned how to weld, wire and 3D print parts to put it together. I can. Only dream of having my wife enjoy the car as she has never seen it all together.

Absolutely love this story. I empathize completely with how building a car can heal wounds of personal tragedies by channeling that anxiety into something creative, and especially! - the feeling of dread in the first white-knuckle drive and how unexpected that is - you all of a sudden realize the car isn't an academic idea anymore, it's emerged from the garage/shed now and has to survive out on the road. I imagine any parent can understand that feeling of wanting to protect their own children, and this isn't far off. I remember, that caught me off-guard too! Well done fellas.

Have followed Marv on instagram for a few years and knew his name from the magazines and mcm but never really truely knew what a nightmare and inturn journey he went through to see his vision come true with this car. I know its not main MCM content but this really should have been brought to the main channel because to the people who maybe wont enjoy the content of a ls swapped American land barge they could all relate or possibly feel emtionally connected to how life and cars can be tough but with the right drive and support group regardless of them helping on the car or just to push you along you can acheive so much more than ourselves even know Well done Marv and thank you to everyone surrounding him for helping this car reach its end goal. Now to slap it in drive and get some smiles going 👍
