Voglio ringraziarti per i consigli che hai dato sull'uso del cianoacrilato unito alla cenere ! Molto meglio come tenacia rispetto alla miscela con il bicarbonato. Ma soprattutto è aver potuto ricostruire il bocchino in ebanite di una vecchia pipa, infatti la cenere inizialmente grigia ha acquistato un intenso colore nero che non si distingue da quello dell'ebanite. Il bocchino ora sembra quasi nuovo, così come la pipa intera ! Grazie ancora !! Ciao !!!

You can do this with many materials... Saw dust, plastic dust/shavings, metal dust/shavings, rock powder, charcoal ash etc ... Depending on what material you're repairing you might want to choose a specific filler material..

However what if you were out somewhere where there wasn't a shop anywhere for miles and the only thing you happened to have was a pack of cigarettes and some super glue on hand? Wood ash would work as well. Theoretically any particulate would. Sugar, sawdust, flour, even dirt.

You don't need to force fantastic ideas and end up with such a bad smelling material. You can get the same effect with any powder. Try powder cement instead. Some use carbonate. You can even try flour. :D It could invite rotting bacteria anyways unless bonded by such a poisonous substance. This is just tiny particles sticking to each other with a solidifying glue and there are cleaner and even cheaper fast curing putty alternatives.
