Meet Dalilah Muhammad of the United States & Gianna Woodruff representing Panama. Both finalists in Tokyo 2020 Olympics, one is a seasoned veteran who has held world records and owns multiple Olympic medals; the other is just getting started on her own road to greatness. These training partners are two of the World's Greatest 400m hurdlers, but the story of these super human women goes much deeper than the race.
World's Greatest presents Dalilah Muhammad & Gianna Woodruff in "Super. Human. Stories."

Dalilah Muhammad - what an incredible lady. Forget her physical abilities folks. She's just a great spirit. You can tell the energy of a person, but their gravitational pull and kinetic magnetism. Win lose or draw, Dalilah seems to be 24-karat the real deal.

These days, she's able to be in complete control of everything. Fuk some insecure bums. And if she's not personally in control, we have entirely too much clout and renown to let anyone control or even influence anything about US. No one to look at but ourselves for accepting this bs. The full reality is we've had the ability to control how we're portrayed. and more importantly, how we See ourselves, since 1900. But Victim Addicts ain't ready for that....

I never noticed... Every famous athlete I can remember (besides FloJo who had a short carreer anyway) was dark-skinned. Evelyn Ashford, Gail Devers, Inger Miller,Gwen Torrence, Carmelita Jeter, Tori Bowie, Sanya Richards, Tiana Bartoletta in long jump etc. even the younger ones. Sha'carri Richardson has a lot of exposure. Let alone the Jamaicans. Track and field has actually been dominated by dark skinned athletes since forever. I don't get what the colorism is about.

@@jessicajessica6374 you listed those who were probably the most successful or fastest. Colorism won’t affect that. I know track isn’t the most popular sport in the country but ashford was the WR holder and Olympic champion. Name anyone who knows her outside of track?

yeah, i definitely noticed the emphasis on Allyson and Sydney this games...FAR more than Dalilah. while both Allyson and Sydney are obviously extraordinary...so is Dalilah. yes, Athing Mu was also featured quite a bit, but, Allyson and Sydney were definitely emphasized most of all. its more than obvious that colorism was at play.

@charlie ward And please feel free to let me know what percentage of Black Americans specialize in distance running? 🤔 Kenyan runners have sponsors right?... I don't find it honest to point out to colorism in every situation, especially not in a discipline where Black-Black people are the most represented. Besides Dafne Schippers, who is not even famous in the States, which white person had it easier to become a sprinter among black athletes? I mean it is one of the rare fields where Black people are the ones brought to light. And people are still complaining. Crazy. As far as I know Allyson Felix is the most decorated track and field athlete and she is at the end of her career. She deserves a little bit of recogniton. Are we really gonna say that it's because her skin tone is lighter. Let's be fair sometimes.

I was discussing this issue with another commenter. I searched high and low for Dalilah's Rio race and finally found one video from a French broadcast. I watched those games, yet, I don't remember that race. All I know is, the announcers focused on Sydney even back then. I certainly don't begrudge the attention on Sydney, but don't understand why it needed to be at Dalilah's expense. Such a sad commentary.

It's so inspirational watching her. I look at where she is now and I flashback to the 2011 when I saw her run the 400mh at NCAA west prelims where she finished 8th. She walked ahead of me as we left the track and I remember thinking, this girl is so consistent, not the best (then) but consistently in the mix. Of the zillion things that live in my mind, I can't help but smile and think back at this moment when I see her tearing it up now. Makes me feel somewhat apart of her journey.

You don't realize how fast she and the other professional men and women are until you see them on the practice circuit. The angles and background really bring it home. She's the consummate professional and classic American Champion- like Carl Lewis, Mo Greene, Jackie Joyner Kersey, Allyson Felix and so many others. It is so blatantly obvious that the media (even black commentators are deliberately trying to downplay your accomplishments and thrust someone else as “the face of the sport”. They did a similar thing with Evelyn Ashford and Flo Jo (who couldn’t hold a candle to Evelyn without doping). I love all of my sisters. I pray that you and Sydney can be above the media and proactively support each other. I think it shameful that the media never mentions that both of you ran under the world record at the olympics. You are Gifted, Beautiful, Intelligent and are celebrated. I celebrate all that you ladies represent. Keep your mind free and be above this world. They didn’t create you and they cannot define you!
