Super Junior is a group that's full of talent vocal. The raspy voice one at 2:37 is Yesung - one of the main vocal. But he enlisted during the time when Evanesce came out so Heechul - the visual line one - was in charge of the high note and he did it beautifully. And the one at 11:58 is Kangin, he is a former member of Super Junior.

The one singing in the background during Sorry Sorry Answer who continuously gives you goosebumps is Yoo Youngjin. We can safely say that he’s one of the most important people in SM, who has been a mentor to so many amazing artists and composed a lot of SM bops (even if I didn’t really like SM’s upbeat songs before EXO, admittedly lol). He’s also the one doing a duet with D.O in Tell Me What Is Love. Also, if you’ve seen Sticker Recording Uncut from NCT, you might have realized that Yoo Youngjin sang the demo and the neos were clearly intimidated by the vocals in that demo lmaoo. Despite not exactly making the title tracks that I’m super into, Super Junior in my opinion still has the best vocal line in ALL of K-Pop even if my ults are EXO (and Chen), so I suppose it’s saying something 😂 Kyuhyun and Ryeowook are especially extremely good. Kyuhyun is the only male idol that won King of Masked Singer for 5 weeks in a row. I guess what turned me into an EXO stan (when I was a huge ELF back in the day, I’m still a casual fan now) was EXO’s R&B, funk and kinda jazz inspired tracks (which was my life before K-Pop lol) and these younger SM singers usually have better vocal agility to support those genres in general. You should watch more Super Junior KRY live vocal performances. Simply amazing. Also, yes, SJ started the suit trend in K-Pop.

So here's the story 🔥 All SuJu members can sing. They have 3 Monster Main Vocals. Even their lead vocals, Sungmin & Donghae, sing above average (like Suho & Xiumin in EXO). Dancer, Rapper, they all can sing very well. THEY ARE THE COMPLETE PACKAGE! 🔥 Exactly the same as EXO. That's why, when EXO debuted, I hated EXO at first. Due to rumors circulating, SM made EXO the successor to SuJu. And I as an ELF, reject that! Because I don't think there's anyone who can match SuJu. But after 3 years, I just realized that EXO is just like his senior, SuJu. They're the complete package, and are in fact pretty awesome!

The one with the Pink hair in Blacksuit is the Leader, Leeteuk. He, to me, is one of the strongest leaders. He has gone through a lot and has remained very strong.

When you mentionned how classy they are with the suits, it reminded me of back when i was still a teenager and my dad didn't like me watching kpop and the only group he approved of was SJ because they looked classy he said unlike others lol. The boy you said is really handsome and looks like the face of the group is actually the maknae Kyuhyun. He is known as one of the best kpop vocalist of all time. He also has an incredible story that I urge you to look into. Years and years ago super Junior got into a horrific car crash and kyuhyun almost died. He had to have life saving surgery and his dad always disproved of him being a vocalist…but when the drs told kyuhyun a dad that the surgery would ruin his vocal chords and he would never be allowed to sing well again..his dad told them to find another way and thankfully they did 🥺

Darn, if only you had known. You should have watched Super Junior's song "This is Love" along with "Evanese." "This is Love" and "Evanesce" are partner songs that make up opposite sides of a love story. "This is Love" is the first part of the story about how happy you are when you are in love, and "Evanesce" is the second part, which is the sad side of the story about slowly forgetting about your love after you have broken up. "This is Love" depicts the part of a relationship where you are happy and in love, but in "Evanesce" that MV is showing how happiness may not always last and sometimes you end up breaking up. The girl fell out of love or didn't feel as passionately about them as they did about her. Like many relationships you start out in love thinking you are going to be together forever (Like what is shown in "This is Love"), but eventually things change and you end up breaking up (Like you see in "Evanesce"). In "Evanesce" the members are in the same room you will see them in in their "This is Love" MV, however, as you saw, in "Evanesce" the room looked as though no one had been there for a long time. Evanesce means "to fade away or to leave your sight or memory." So the song is about how they are slowly forgetting about their love and they are sad to be losing the memory of being in love. That is why Eunhyuk -- SuJu's main dancer and main rapper. who is one of the top dances in the industry -- is dancing with that girl, and it is almost as if she is a spirit or ghost of a past memory. They go back to the place where they remember being in love hoping to recapture that love and to try and hold on to those memories, but they find that as time has passed nothing is the same any more, and like their memories, even the room has been neglected and forgotten about. Fun fact: Yesung, one of SuJu's 3 main vocalists, who are all known as some of the best vocalists in the industry, was the only member not in this MV because he was serving in the military at this time. Which is why we saw Heechul, one of SuJu's lead rappers, covering some of the main vocal parts in "Evanesce." There are 10 members in this MV. The member with the blond hair you didn't recognize is KangIn, who was on hiatus for several years before leaving the group in 2019. But to SuJu fans he will always and forever be a member of SuJu, so you should get to know him as well. Side note: KangIn is a stage name and it means strong one, so he is known for his strength. Super Junior debuted in 2005 and "Evanesce" came out in 2014, so the oldest members -- Leeteuk and Heechul -- were 31 here and the youngest -- Kyuhyun -- was 26. Super Junior is an SM group, so of course all the members have amazing vocals. SM is known for having the best vocalists and dancers in the industry. That's just a fact about the type of people SM selects to be a part of its company. That is what makes Super Junior so special. Not only can all the members sing, but even their rappers can fill in as a main vocalist when needed. Super Junior's rappers are better singers than a lot of groups' main vocalists, so that goes to show you how talented Super Junior is. :D Now you need to see SuJu perform "Evanesce" live in concert. Their live harmonies will blow you away. ;D "Evanesce" live is the perfect example of how even SuJu's rappers could be main vocalists. And in concert Heechul even filled in for Yesung's main vocal parts in some of their songs. You really should look up a lyric video for "Evanesce" so you can see who is singing those background vocals. It's not always the person you see at that moment in the MV. For example, during the part where you first saw Donghae and he wasn't moving his mouth, the person who's voice you heard was Sungmi, who was the member who appears right after Donghae. The majority of those high notes and main vocal parts you hear is Ryeowook and Kyuhyun, who, along with Yesung, make up SuJu's trio of main vocalists. I have been a fan of SuJu for so long now that I can tell who is singing without even seeing them.

SJ debuted with 12 members with “Super Junior 05” project which is not the fixed group. But later they become success and popular, so SM let them be a fixed group and added Kyuhyun as 13th member. Kibum and Hangeng had already left SM. (Now Kibum is an actor and Hangeng is active in China) In case of Kangin, he had made many accidents and was arrested by the police (Drunk-driving) so finally he decided to leave the group. And for Sungmin, he is inactive with the group since he’s married. (There’re many controversies with his marry). So now only 9 members are active with group projects (even Heechul can’t dance but he still can active in other ways)🥰

The vocal that made you get goosebumps was of Yoo Youngjin, an SM's artist and producer. He is actually the vocal coach of Kyungsoo and is really famous for his beautiful runs. The main vocalists of Suju are Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung and this trio are the vocal kings also, just as EXO ChenBaekDo. Let me help explain what is happening in Super Junior's "Black Suit" MV. First off, Nov. 6, 2017, the day the "Black Suit" MV was released, was Super Junior's 12th anniversary. (This year will be SuJu's 16th anniversary.) That's why this album and comeback was extra important to fans. It had been more than 2 years since we had had a comeback from SuJu because 7 of the members were enlisting in the military over the past 2 years before this comeback. Play -- the album this song is from -- is Super Junior's 8th full length album. (Their most recent comeback -- with "House Party," their remake of "Raining Spell for Love," "The Melody" and "Burn the Floor," etc. -- which were released last year, is part of Renaissance their 10th full length album.) In "Black Suit" each of the members play a different character in the auction house. Siwon was a "Client representative" -- a person who places a clients bid for them while talking to them on the phone. The blond "security guard" is Donghae. Shindong was the millionaire who was hiding under the chair on the floor in the MV. Leeteuk played the auctioneer. Eunhyuk, the curly haired guy with the glasses, was the appraiser. Yesung (the main vocalist) was the guy in charge of transporting the suit from storage and Heechul was the savage one yet again as the Decoy. "Black Suit" has only 7 of the 13 members of Super Junior. Six members are not a part of this comeback -- Ryeowook and Kyuhyun were in the military at this time, Henry and Zhoumi are the Chinese members of Super Junior-M and they are not part of the main Super Junior group, and Sungmin and KangIn were inactive at this time due to some controversy (KangIn, has sadly now left the group). Here is my theory of what happened in "Black Suit". The concept of the story in the MV is kind of like an "Ocean's Eleven" movie. The members are playing a group of friends who are planning to steal the suit. In other words, it was an inside job. Super Junior planned to steal the suit even before the auction. The real suit was never on display because Yesung -- the transporter -- helped to hide the real suit away and they replaced it with a fake suit. That's why in the beginning of the auction you see Eunhyuk -- the appraiser -- up at the front testifying to the fact that it was the "authentic suit" to make sure no one suspected that the suit wasn't the real one. Because the suit on display isn't the real suit, when the girl at the end steals it, none of the members try to stop her because all the members know it's the wrong one. Heechul starts the fight by throwing a bottle in order to distract from the fact that the theft has occurred. In the beginning you see the fight taking place all in reverse. They rewind the scene to show us what led up to the fight. Shindong is the comedian of the group and because he is playing the millionaire he decided to make his character scared of all the chaos that is going on during the fight scene, that is why he is hiding on the floor. Super Junior truly are a group of brothers that have been together for so many years that nothing is off limits and they don't hide their true selves from the cameras. LOL If you saw the behind the scenes of their MVs you would see them all making fun of each other and swearing and just generally acting crazy like a bunch of teenage boys. Check out their SJ Returns reality TV show to see them on set filming "Black Suit." This is the first part of episode 37 where you see them on set m.vlive.tv/video/46461, but there are several episodes after this also where they are on set. And if you enjoy these clips, check out more of the episodes from this season, because there are a lot more that came before these episodes. This will help you to get to know them better. Super Junior are known for their story based MVs, their catchy choreography and their goofy fun concepts. Some of their other songs you should check out are "Danger" by Super Junior-D&E; "Mamacita" by Super Junior; and Super Junior-M's "Swing". (Super Junior-M is Super Junior's Mandarin sub-unit so if you react to them maybe consider reacting to the Chinese/Mandarin versions of the songs because that's the original version.)

Sorry Sorry Answer is like Super Junior (esp KRY (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung)) feat Yoo Young Jin, the SM producer...Yoo Young Jin is the one who did all the high notes and adlibs too along with KRY... Evanesce MV is actually the continuation of This Is Love MV...and I don't there's a cover for that song... For Devil MV, I hope you watch the teasers too, coz the teasers were so funny...coz only Suju can do that for the teasers....Devil also have performance MV, so you can watch it too... Black Suit is the song for their comeback after their 2 years hiatus, coz most of the members were on army...the members on the MV are just the members who already done with enlistment...

The first kpop concert I ever went to was SMTown New York in 2011, and Super Junior were my ult group back then (before EXO debuted haha). Before they came out as a full group, KRY came out and sang Sorry Sorry Answer which was my favorite song at the time, so it was the first thing I saw them sing live and it always holds a special place in my heart. As amazing as Yoo Youngjin is, I would definitely recommend watching a live version so you can hear the members singing a lot of those parts! They're amazing. Evanesce I would also recommend live, they're great at putting in emotion. They released that at the same time as another song, This Is Love, and the MVs are filmed on the same set so it's kind of a cool contrast if you watch them together. Black Suit is forever my favorite SJ title track, it's just incredibly fun and Yesung is my bias so I love him going off at the end lol. In general they're a super fun group and I think you will like them a lot if you dive further in. They're pretty much the reason I got into kpop in the first place. Edit: I wanted to add, a lot of their older songs can be quite cringey but still fun so I'd recommend checking them out too, especially U!

16:19 SJ's ballads/slow songs in general are typically not covered by the average idol groups because of two reasons: 1. Their ballads are mostly underrated and the Korean public typically don't like slow songs (hence Trot is more liked by most Koreans) 2. It is hard to cover an SJ ballad mainly because of SJ-K.R.Y (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung; SJ's main vocals). At the very least, an idol group that will have the guts to cover their ballads should have a main vocalist that is on par with SJ's lead vocals (I can't say with K.R.Y coz up until now, they are still recognized as the best vocal unit in Kpop, so it's really hard to be in their level).

So, there isn't really a "short" guide to Super Junior that I would recommend. The shortest one is "A Longass Guide to Super Junior" at about 30 minutes. It's a few years old, but it has good info, especially on the members that aren't active or left. A more current, slightly longer, one would be "A guide to Super Junior OT10 - 2021" that focuses on the current active members and Sungmin, who is inactive at the moment, but not Zhoumi who is only a part of the sub unit Super Junior-M, that hasn't been active for several years. It's around 44 minutes. So, it's up to you which one sounds more of what you are looking for. Sorry Sorry and Sorry Sorry-Answer, are actually two different songs, both lyrically and musically. The "answer" is to the Sorry Sorry song itself. They usually perform Sorry Sorry at concerts and events as a group, but KRY (the vocal sub unit) has done Sorry Sorry Answer live several times and it is glorious! "Sorry Sorry Answer" was released in 2009 just like "Sorry Sorry" was, but as you may have noticed, they have completely different vibes. Although "Sorry Sorry Answer" has a few of the same lines and samples the melody from "Sorry Sorry" -- this was not the ballad version of "Sorry Sorry" -- they are separate songs that are considered partner songs because the story kind of continues from one song to the next. You should really look up the lyrics to both songs to see what they are talking about. "Sorry Sorry" was first and "Sorry Sorry Answer" comes next because it's their answer to what they are talking about in "Sorry Sorry." Fun fact: One way you can tell that this MV was from 2009 is because Hangeng (Super Junior's Chinese member, and the first non-Korean member of a Kpop group) is in these MVs and he left the group in 2010. There are 11 members of the original 13 member main group of SuJu in this MV -- Leeteuk, Heechul, Hangeng, Yesung, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun. "Sorry Sorry Answer was released in December 2009, so this was 4 years after SuJu debuted. Leeteuk and Heechul were 26, Hangeng was 25, Yesung was 25, (KangIn was 24), Shindong was 24, Sungmin was 23, Eunhyuk was 23, Siwon was 23, Donghae was 23, Ryeowook was 22, (Kibum was 22) and Kyuhyun was 21. (And just to complete the list, Super Junior-M members -- who are only members of the Mandarin Chinese sub-unit -- Zhoumi was 23 and Henry was 20. They are not part of this song.) The Studio version of "Sorry Sorry Answer," which you just heard, is good, but you haven't truly experienced just how great this song is until you hear the live performance sung by Super Junior-K.R.Y. because even though the Sorry Sorry harmony parts are sung by all the members in the MV and album version, "Sorry Sorry Answer" is really K.R.Y.'s song. (That is why you primarily only see K.R.Y. singing in the MV. The main runs and adlibs aren't even sung by any of the SuJu members in the MV -- SM's producer and vocal coach Yoo YoungJin is the voice you hear.) Once you hear "Sorry Sorry Answer" live in concert you will understand what I mean. Once you hear SuJu's main vocalists perform this whole song themselves, you will understand why they are considered the top vocalists in the industry. Super Junior- K.R.Y. is one of Super Junior's 5 sub-units and this unit is made up of SJ's 3 main vocalists (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung -- hence the name K.R.Y. ), who are 3 of the best vocalists in the industry. K.R.Y. is the industry's very first sub-unit who debuted in 2006 and they are a ballad unit, who primarily performs together live. They only recently released their first album "When We Were Us" as a unit in 2020. Hence, one reason why you need to hear "Sorry Sorry Answer" live. Kyuhyun, who is the youngest member of Super Junior, who is currently 34 and he is considered one of the best vocalist in the industry. He only trained for about 3 months before becoming one of the main vocalist of Super Junior when he was only 17. He is know for his ballads and has tons of solo songs and albums as well. He didn't become a member of the group until 6 months after SuJu debuted, and the SuJu members joke that he is the whole reason why they became successful. (Kyuhyun's debut song as a member of Super Junior was their song "U" and it was the group's first major win.) You also should check out the live solo version of "Sorry Sorry Answer" with Eunhyuk, who is SJ's main dancer and main rapper. Eunhyuk's performance of "Sorry Sorry Answer" is a must watch for any SuJu fan. That is one thing you will get to know about Super Junior -- they are amazing performers and singers, but they are also one of the craziest and weirdest groups around. You will never know what to expect from them. And they are constantly switching up their style and sound. With so many members and with so many sub-units, as well as the fact that their career spans so many years, they have pretty much covered all aspects of the entertainment industry and all styles of music and dance. Once you get to know them better, you will see that they are more unique than any other Kpop group out there. So many of SuJu's members personalities are completely polar opposite of each other that it makes for a very unique and unusual dynamic within their group, but that's what makes them so special. When the group was originally put together they were supposed to be a project group that would only be together for a few months, so SM didn't really create the group with a specific concept or style, so the members are very diverse. And I think that is one of the reasons why SuJu's sound and style is much more organic and fluid because it's constantly changing and evolving like how SM originally had planned for the group. In the beginning SM planned for the members to leave Super Junior '05 and become members of different groups, etc., but because of the love of E.L.F. -- Everlasting Friends, SuJu's fandom -- they ended up staying together as a permanent group. So the way the group was formed and the members were chosen is a little differently than most Kpop groups.

I became an ELF when I heard Sorry Sorry Answer in 2010. My first kpop concert is Super Show 3. I fell in love with kpop because of Super Junior and I attended lots of kpop concerts after that. I must tell you, Super Show is really superb. Suju vocals do not disappoint especially when they sing the ballad medley. They always have one part in their concerts where they sing ballads and it is so heavenly. They went to military, one by one, and there are concerts they lack member/s, but they cover the lacking members part so well that you would not notice unless you are really a fan cuz you know who sings which line.

Sorry Sorry Answer, Evanesce, Mirror and Island are the best slow songs by SuJu and they are meant to be watched live cause their live versions are even much better. Actually SuJu is a group that you'll fall in love more if you watch them live especially Super Shows. They're so insanely stable and good vocally that even after so many years there are some antis claiming they even lip-sync in concerts. :D They have more than 100 songs and most of them are super upbeat and funky. BTW Evanesce is an iconic song not for your reasons though but for Heechul multiple times and all member once missing the stage.And that's almost in every funny video compilation :))

you're absolutely right, SuJu had to deal with the usual they cant sing it's just hype, they'renothing but pretty faces etc. and this is the flex proof. it's something many groups had to deal with and i think SM has done a lot in disproving that stigma to the point we now have oh their SM vocals, of course it's top tier.
