Super Major Hydraulics test

Testing hydraulics after fixing leaking Unloading Valve plug. Quadrant lever set to lift in draft control. Corrections are just audible. Should be no more than three in two minutes, according to repair manual. Corrections more frequent but very short, indicating very small leak somewhere. Pump repressurises system in less than a second. As good as it gets.

Nice! I didnt think the old girl would lift a heavy plough like that , the pump etc must be in good condition

I had the back end apart but didn't renew the seals in the pump, so it's in its original state. The weak point with the hydraulics is the unloading valve plug, which wears after time. The Loctite sealer is a technology that wasn't around when the tractor was designed and built. The Loctite solves the problem. Two seasons of heavy ploughing later and no leaks even when the oil is hot and thin. Thanks for your comment.
