I made a speedrun with the pc port of this game. Believe me it's far superior to everything else. The only downside of the pc port is, that you can't savestate...or maybe you can but I don't know how. If you know this please share this knowledge with me - would help me a lot!

The remake was on the ds and the controls are kinda shit. They should have just remastered 64 for 3d all stars instead of just doing a port. Maybe even make the remastered graphics togglable like in the halo master cheif collection so if you like the old graphics better you can have them. To be honest that with the changes made to sunshine and galaxy this probably would make the collection worth around what they're charging mabeye a little less.

I grew up in the 90s playing games long before I had ever heard of the concept of speedrunning, and when I did, it was in the pre-KZbin days, so I would download "segmented" speedruns from SpeedDemosArchive one video at a time, and this would take literal weeks on a dial up modem. In your case, you watched videos of speedruns before you ever played a game yourself. That's wild to me.

HUNGRY 4 EGGS the whole game is supposed to look how miyamoto depicted it in the 90’s without any hardware limitations. EDIT: and it’s still running off the n64 source codes and whatnot so that’s why some things may look off. It’s an upgraded graphics mod on the original N64 ROM.

Ciawn regardless of how good and memorable they were in their specific launch windows (except sunshine) those are some old ass games +13 years old. And the only thing some technician (I would say technicians but really, it’s such a piss poor port that I can’t fathom even an small team working on it because...) do was something akin to copy and paste the roms in to the in house emulator and copy and paste the three folders in the main server with the OSTs. I get you, I love Nintendo games, I love video games, thankfully I have and had have access to all consoles from the 64 era onwards but what Nintendo do for a 35th anniversary was so lazy and insulting that I refuse to pay for the convenience of playing one of my favorite game of all time, Super Mario Galaxy (an absolute art defining MASTERPIECE), and at the same time letting Nintendo get away with something that looks ridiculous compared to the ports and reworks some kids have done in their spare time in computers and engines nowhere near those that game developers have access to. I would rather pay a solo version of galaxy for 40usd on the eshop, than encourage the scam that is that shitty port.

It’s not worth it for those who already own the games or have emulators but for people like me who never really experienced the games properly it’s so nice to have an upscaled version of 3 brilliant games on the go. Do I think they could’ve done better? Yeah but I’m not too bothered if this game collection brings the possibility of more classic Nintendo games being released on Switch. For example games like Ocarina of Time or Majora’s Mask. On top of that the game is celebrating 35 years of Mario so that also bumps the price.

The only thing about this port that i kinda dont like, is that Mario doesn't have any new facial animations, he only blinks but never moves his mouth, wich creeps me out a bit. Other than that, this game and modding community never ceases to amaze me.
