when playing this game, you would only hear the bass track after you pressed pause. There is no telling how much time I spent listening to that isolated track, as a kid with an eight bit Nintendo, and homework to do. But, I still blame the other guys for me being turned into a bass player 25 years ago.

Known as "DOKI DOKI PANIC" Underground Theme...

A very similar, but not identical version of this song did appear as the above ground theme in Doki Doki Panic. When Doki Doki Panic was altered to become "Super Mario Bros. 2" in the USA, there were some changes made to this song. The most substantial of these changes was the addition of the section at 0:32.
