In regards to the Sonic easter egg: In a lot of variations of the Sonic mythos, Sonic and his friends are said to live on a post-human Earth (often called Mobius); perhaps those Mario faces on the ruins of Marble Zone were made by an "ancient" civilization that revered or even worshiped the plumber eons before Sonic or Eggman were born, maybe even some lost cult of Toads... ...As for how Mario and Sonic can meet each other for the Olympics if that's the case, I say Sonic and friends are using time travel; it wouldn't be the first time they've done it...

Favorite cameo was the one in Link's Awakening that I already knew about. In Ocarina of Time, you can see Malon wearing a necklace with Bowser on it. A couple of theories: Malon must have had it handed down from her mother. Her mother was likely a Gerudo because Talon hints that his wife was a Gerudo. The Gerudo worship Ganondorf. Could it be that Ganondorf is actually Bowser?! Or perhaps, is Malon possibly a reincarnation of Wendy O. Koopa while Talon is Bowser's reincarnation!! I dunno, MalonxLink for life!

Bow Nana If you talk to him with the Gerudo's Mask on from the Happy Mask sidequest, he'll say, "Hey, that reminds me of my wife..." but then he'll try to hide it by saying, "On second thought, it doesn't... it doesn't look like her at all." Also, Malon has red hair, but not Talon.

MegaLegoLuigiEX I have to compromise genetics with a fictional world. Considering it is common that a Gerudo would have a Gerudo daughter due to the race still existing, it is most likely that they have a dominant trait. So Talon would have a recessive. If the Gerudo were married to none Gerudo, then they probably have a recessive trait along with a dominant one. So that would make a 25% chance of Malon being a Hylian rather than a Gerudo. But traits of the Gerudo can still be inherited, such as red hair.

Great video! As for one of my favorite easter eggs, mine is Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Games. When you go to sleep, you'll cycle between changing words, and short late night scenes. One of them involves Cappy and Stucky. Stucky will come out of what looks like a pipe in the middle of the Clubhouse wearing a red hat, with Cappy following with a different green hat, referencing Mario and Luigi! This surprised me at first, but Nintendo easter eggs are not new to the Hamtaro games. Shigeru Miyamoto worked on the games, and there is a Zelda reference in Ham-Ham Heartbreak!

I'm a big fan of the Enopu Mushroom's references to Mario in Bravely Second. The description describes how they're the favourite of a plumber with a love for mushrooms - although this particular plumber doesn't save princesses apparently. However, the true genius is the fact that it imbues Reraise to a party member. Or in other words, gives them an extra life, like a ^1-up^ mushroom.

It would make sense that Sonic 1 pays a little homage to Mario. Apparently the whole reason why Sonic's levels were designed to be fast was because the creator of Sonic loved to try and beat level 1 of Mario as fast as he could, hence the inspiration.
