This guy is an unbelievable gamer. I don't like speedruns that use glitches or exploits . This was a legitimate speed run only using warp gates that are supposed to be part of the game. His jump timing was amazing at a few points during the video.

Arcus, I wanted to know if you'd try something. I remember your bold contribution to the Ninja Gaiden No Hit Run. So, I'll start by mention it involves figuring out how to manually bypass the ability to not be able to pull off what happens when you use l+r commands on a keyboard emulation of mario however doing it by cheesing the remote on the Nes via use of a third button the run button B. The idea is akin to pulling off Scorpion's Fatality on MK 1 without the block button by hitting the 3 button sequence of up, up, and punch. May be that you will have to hit the button on the direction pad twice, aligning more in spirit with MK 1 no block Fatality, that you are trying to cancel for the effect then going for the opposite direction quickly. All I know is in the early days the quick successions of button could bypass a movement due to overload. If done this would effectively rule out the rule against l+r not being viable or at least in theory should at the very least with asterisk to note use of keyboard or remote when doing so since the controller would notoriously tougher to pull off. More importantly would open Super Mario Bros to the last frontier of records. Either way it would involve nullifying the direction pressed by using the chosen button whether it be a random button like Run in between the direction buttons or doubling down on the direction that you are trying to nullify the effect of before quickly hitting the opposite direction key. For example if you trying to delay or nullify the right directional response double press before switching immediately to the left. I'm either crazy or brilliant, and I'll take either one. I think you of the same breed. Id try myself but lack the system. In light of what Im trying to see pulled off looking crazy or brilliant really is not a bad place to be. There is a third option I thought of which is to use the b button before the hitting, the direction button that you trying to deny, a second time and hold the b button while switching to the opposite direction. Id imagine it would be the R button you trying to deny. So in theory hit the right direction, when going for the double press intercede before hitting R button for a second time a holding b button and as soon as your thumb hits the b button hit the right button a 2nd time only to immediately switch left button. After all you are the Bob Ross of speed running so I can find no one more fitting for my theory.
