I think people are getting the wrong idea. They arent going to release a 2D Mario game where you need to be able to beat Super Expert levels regularly in SMM2. This game is hard in terms of where 2D Mario was before this game. And also there are some hard levels towards the end even if you're decent. If you one shot the final badge level and got all the 10 coins, hats off to ya.

I’ve been playing mario games since they came out on game boy. Well I don’t remember if game boy came before or after Nintendo 64 but I played Mario on both. I like Mario in 2d, 3d, and paper Mario. Though paper series is my personal favorite. Anyways so far in my opinion out of the 2d Mario games I’ve played Mario wonder seems the easiest then 3d land. I think that’s the name of the one that includes bowsers furry on the switch. Then the Wii U versions were more challenging for me and I can’t remember if I beat the last few worlds of the Wii U ones. But all the 2d mario games before that so far remain too difficult still for me to beat. Though I plan to git gud at some point and beat them all eventually. Also wonder and the first 3 paper marios as well as Mario maker 2 are my top 5 favorite Mario games not in that order.

I don’t think I died more than a Dozen times, and almost every single death was on a single level. I collected almost every Wonder Seed from every level I played only missing a few. I’m a tad disappointed that the game was such a breeze for me. It seems like everyone else is struggling and I’m happy for them. The difficulty is nowhere near a deal breaker for me because each level up until some of the last areas were entirely unique and had their own mechanics. The reuses a few wonder effects too many times towards the end. The first 4 hours and the last 2 hours are the highlight of the game IMO.

Should have collected all the 10 coins in each level as you went or challenged yourself in another way. They arent going to release a mainline Mario game and make you need at least 100 hours in Super Mario Maker to be able to beat some levels.

@@turkeyman631 I collected all purple coins and almost got every Pole “Wonderful” I even went out of my way to get almost every single seed in every world. Just missed a few that’s it. And I did most of the secret world levels. I didn’t rush the game or anything it just wasn’t hard. I loved the game either way just thought people overhyped the difficulty specifically.

This game is so much easier than people say it is. Only difficult level (at least that I have played so far) is that goomba level without any checkpoints in the extra world. It's just so annoying and it pissed me off. Especially the ending. I never died more than about 3 times in a single level before that one, but that level took about 15-20 attempts.

Nah, this is one of the easiest 2D Mario games they’ve made in a loooong time. Every NSMB game is significantly more difficult, especially because the levels were longer and they didn’t give you a plethora of badges that let you cheese levels.

As someone who has played the nsmb games and done alot of self imposed challenges such as no power ups and no checkpoint runs,pacifist runs etc, no, nsmb games are easier than this. I think alot of people are confusing nsmb games with kaizo or maker2.

@@dippking4638 I think having played them so much and being so familiar biases you a bit. I’ll give them a replay just to be sure, but I think the badges alone allow for tons of leeway in the actual platforming difficulty. The levels themselves I find to be easier when it comes to the 10 purple coins, as they’re hidden or placed in ways that don’t require nearly as much searching or challenging platforming compared to star coins.
