Tbf he's kinda just foisting the coins onto someone else, since they had to get the coins instead of him. That's why I still watch videos like this from multiple people though, you get to see interesting differences in rulesets and execution.

To be clear the other run I'm talking about went all the way to the other end because he made the people he did multiplayer stuff with *also* go coinless to get as far as he did so they could help, way more impressive, but a massive time sink that meant he had trouble finding people to help him.

It's actually possible to get through the section in 35:51without online multiplayer and without touching a coin by hopping out of the Outmaway next to the flagpole. You need to take one point of damage while in the Wubba form and to hop out of the enemy right when it is on the edge of the platform with enough speed to barely miss the flagpole and the coins, but is possible

I assume you considered that already, but since you didn't mention it I'll ask anyways. 33:02 For this bridge, would it have worked to just skip into world five instead of going into it normally? Like, how you skipped into world 4 earlier to try and get the invisibility badge, when you did that through the out of bounds method you ended up in a very different area than where you're supposed to start out in world 4. So, doing the same thing to enter world 5, would it be possible to get somewhere past that bridge while out of bounds?

When he went to W4, the bonus coin room was there, which I think is tied to progression (beat bowser I think). That probably means glitching there sets some progression flag wrong. If the bridge is tied to a similar flag (a reasonable assumption as it’s meant to be required), then yeah maybe that could work! Edit: Lesson 3 - don’t overcomplicate things, idiot! I have forgotten that warping there or using OoB could bypass the bridge anyway.
