Scooby Shag bahahaha lol no disney music is pretty much the exact same peices. sure, theres a few good dramatoc peices, but literally ALL of them are the same style, and have similar rhythms, chords, and phrases. galaxy on the other hand, is a masterpeice, comparable to orchestral masterpeices such as star wars.

There is no way to overrate a premier Mario game. The iterative sidescrolling ones, maybe, but not a showstopper like the Galaxy series. They are unparalleled. And any real game designer/producer would readily admit such.

It's between this and the new 3-D World for my favorite 3-D Mario titles (SMW on the SNES will always be my all time fav). Nintendo amazes me with their ingenuity every time. ***** To each his own. Galaxy 1 is incredibly fun, but to demote 3D World to a rehash of 3D Land is just unfair. There's no way anyone could play the game all the way through and agree with that. The level design is nothing short of brilliant. Mario 64 was groundbreaking, but if they were released side by side, it would pale in comparison to any 3D Mario game released since.

I think Galaxy 2 didn't do enough with the outer space theme. Also the intriguing mystery behind Rosalina was a memorable part of the first game. It overall felt more like an adventure than a just a collection of tough platforming levels like Galaxy 2 was. Galaxy 2 was phenomenal and better than the first game in almost every way, but Galaxy will always be the more memorable title for the constant sense of adventure it evoked.

I remember spending my entire summer beating the Galaxy Games (other than the time I went traveling). I 100% SMG2 and while I collected all 120 stars in SMG1, I did not get all the stars again as Luigi. When I first played SMG1, it automatically became my favorite Mario Game. When SMG2 came out, that became my favourite game but after replaying Super Mario Odyssey, I am sorry to say that Odyssey is my favorite Mario Game with SMG2 being N2 and SMG1 being N3.

I love both this game and the first one to death. They are fantastically constructed. But am I the only one that felt like the second game felt less...I don't know...fleshed out? I don't even know what word to use there. But the first games less streamlined and less linear level design fit with the outer-space theme more to me. Am I saying that right? Thoughts and opinions guys? I want to spark a discussion about this via this comment. =)

It felt less because it was the successor and therefore not ingenious like the first Galaxy. Also, they did forgo much story-driven dialogue, but, really, that was never what Mario was about. We play his premier titles for the sheer fun and ingenuity of gameplay. And G2 delivers on that front.

For me, the levels felt even more linear than the first one. Galaxy 1 was also quite linear but it feels like they were able to hide it better. I really do miss the open worlds we saw in Mario 64 and Sunshine. Nevertheless, they're both fantastic games, and will go down as 2 of the all-time greats in my book.

I just don't get why everyone likes this one more than Galaxy. Galaxy has more cinematics, basically more of a story, there's no world system, which makes no sense in space, there are no comet medals, which makes it more of a collectathon. The galaxies are better than in 2. Again, there's actually a HUB WORLD. Also, no 3D mario games have replay value. If you are going 100%. There are some things galaxy 2 does better however, like the 2 player, and having the supermassive and throwback galaxies. But I just don't see why Galaxy 2 gets more praise. Galaxy 1 is obviously the better game.

man, it’s so weird thinking this video was made when galaxy 2 came out. Its strange thinking that this was the new mario game to come out, thinking the graphics look absolutely stunning is just very weird to watch for me. i’m not saying the game’s graphics are bad, it’s far from that. A true masterpiece. Just a fantastic game, with the orchestra and gameplay which just makes it superb. It's a shame that some deluded people only like COD and don't even appreciate true game creation skill like this. Mario is the best-selling video game franchise of all time (510 million) whereas COD is 6th being beaten by Mario, Pokemon and the Wii titles (Wii Sports, Play, Party, Fit).

So I haven't played Galaxy 2 yet, but I'm going to be doing so in a few days. I plan to stream the series as well, but I'm not here to self promote. I'm here to say that although galaxy and galaxy 2 each have their pros, to the looks of it, I prefer the original. Galaxy 2 looks like a lot of fun, don't get me wrong, and galaxy 2 has a lot more content, but I got to give props to galaxy 1 for its original concept, comet observatory (if there is one thing we can all agree is better in Galaxy 1, it is that the comet observatory is better than starship Mario), its more sophisticated storyline, and of course, how could we forget gusty garden? Even with my opinion set, this can change once I actually play the game, but no matter what, both galaxies are legendary. I wish Nintendo could outdo themselves again. Sure, oddysey is great, but a few things they could've done better include: 1. putting more customization into the boss fights. Sure, there were some unique bosses in oddysey, but for the most part, it's the 4 rabbits. 2. I do feel they could've made better soundtracks. 3. Oddysey feels kind of, square... galaxy and galaxy 2 defiantly had more shapes, and more round edges, which might sound weird in text, but the design does play a role. Overall, id has to say even though, in my personal opinion, no Mario game has beaten Galaxy and galaxy 2, Nintendo still manages to make amazing games. Nintendo is the company that sticks out from the rest, and were lucky to have them. Thank you nintendo for all your hard work. Were looking forward to your future projects.
