Despite this being the only daredevil run to not rematch a boss, it is the hardest one of all. Harder than all the boss rematches. I wonder if it’s because they initially wanted it to be Fiery Dino Piranha Daredevil Run but they decided that’s too unfair of a boss to do that with?

I was struggling with this level until today when I found a shortcut. I’ve watched every version of this vid on youtube and no one is using it. The last part, where the spire is sinking, is always where I would die. At 3:15, if you pause the video you will see a little ledge above Mario. Back flip and spin jump up to that part and you can skip most of the spire. Once I found this I instantly beat it. I’m sure this will be helpful to others!!

Yeah, I hate this level so much. Unlike the others, where you have to defeat a boss with one piece of life, you have to do an entire mission! It took me a few tries last night, and I was frustrated, but every mistake I made, I learned to be more patient and careful. This predicted The Perfect Run in Galaxy 2!

It's easy to avoid it if you know it's coming. Just quickly spin and pray to whatever god you believe in that the Lil Cinder is within your spin range, therefore putting it out and distracting it long enough for you to collect your star.

I think that a Fiery Dino Piranha daredevil run would have made the ENTIRE game of "Magician Lord" look like a walk in the park! "Magician Lord" is so difficult that you shouldn't expect to do a No-Damage Run in that game until you know exactly what enemies will appear where throughout. It doesn't help that "Magician Lord" pulls some dirty-pool tactics such as the spikes flying off of the Second Stage boss that are sometimes unavoidable.

I actually beat this level on my second go-around, the reason I died in the first round was that I screwed up on a wall jump. I found it easy to just take this level nice and slow, although that's for me, I don't know if it'll work for others. But, I can see why others struggle with it, the amount of obstacles you have to try to avoid is absurd.

It was this level that I learned that your star bit counter maxed out at 999. I kept dying and the counter just continued collecting. I lost count of the amount of times I’ve died but in the end, I won, and even got 999 star bits out of it

Key to doing this level: patience and remember where they floor fire sprayer things are. Also avoid the little fire guys like the plague. First attempt at it, I beat it my second try. I just finished playing it as Luigi and beat it at the first try. Dreadnaught purple coins is the absolute worst level in the game to me

I agree that this mission is great. Even though it's basically the same as the first mission other than the daredevil, there are enough slight differences that make it stand out. It's the only non-boss daredevil mission, one of the only places where you actively hear enemies' death animations without getting a coin, and the music perfectly fits the mood, especially with the changes to how the launch and sling stars sound.
