I can’t help but imagine that, rather than commissioning the giant Mario robot himself, the toads made it for Mario as a birthday gift and he couldn’t find it in him to decline it.

Maybe that's where the Mini Marios from the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series come from? It would make sense for Mario to use some of the parts from the giant robot of himself for tiny wind-up toys of himself.

So, usually, I'd vote for potato. I mean, it's the one zone you haven't gotten to yet, right? And judging by the comments, I'm pretty sure potato won at least once. So that got me thinking...is the potato zone even real? Could I have been encouraging you to enter a zone that simply did not exist?! I couldn't help myself, I had to check. So I went and replayed mario land 2. Full completion. No stone unturned. And guess what? There was no potato zone. I looked everywhere. Every level, every secret exit, ANYTHING. I tried other versions of the game, I combed every version of Super Mario Land 2: 6 golden coins that I could get my hands on back to front. Nothing. I was devestated. And then comes this video to confirm what I was afraid of most: there's only one zone left. So, here I am now, my soul crushed and my heart broken, here to tell you that I will unfortunately be voting for the Turtle Zone. And I hope no one else watching this video suffered as much as I did.

That Jack-in-the-box enemy is kind of weird, since you’d think they’d make it so the block you hit starts jumping around instead of producing another block that does it.

Lots of deep-cut enemies in this game that would make great additions to any future Mario RPGs. Kinda like how Paper Mario 64 took a lot of stuff from Yoshi's Island, or stuff that LOOKED like it came from Yoshi's Island (looking at you, Gulpits)

I don't know, this last vote is going to be a hard one. I really enjoy the Turtle zone, but you can't go wrong with Turtle zone either. Ultimately though for the sake of brevity, I have to vote for Turtle Zone.

Yes; because all that land is gifted, and he can't exactly say "no" to the face of local royalties. Remember: he saves PRINCESSES. The man's gotta be rich only by virtue of the rewards he gets. Only reason we see a humble abode in most other games is exactly because he's humble, but he's gotta visit his gifted land at least *once* before declining it.

no potato zone is way better, to get there you gotta clear all 3 save files without losing a single life or turning off the game, then go back into save file 1 and replay tree zone, go to save file 3 and get 99 lives in the one bonus game (if you fail this you have to repeat everything prior), then load super mario 64 and run around the fountain 2401 times, then go back into save file 2 and defeat wario again in which he'll say he's tired of you and send you straight to potato zone instead of the credits playing
