What happened here is called a REMIX, not a REMASTER. A remix is, if you alter an existing composition (replacing instruments, adding notes, change orders... in the most simple way a cut somewhere). In contrast, mastering is the very last task done to an existing mix to match it the specifications of the target medium (CD, MC...) and to work around limitations of that. Mastering doesn't change the content of a record itself. A simple mastering may be the conversion of a high-res mix to the CD format so you can write it there. If the mastering process is done again later (i.e. for a future medium or to improve the quality by using more recent technology), it is called remastering.
