Yup. That's why it had stereo headphones jack. It isn't the first console to do that though. The Sega Mega Drive came first and it also had a stereo jack.

I just bought this game. A lot of people may hate it, but I think it's a pretty good game. The music is great, there isn't a 5 year delay when you get a power up or take damage and it's a simple game.
