You say "Only", but getting to Shadow Mario in each world involves getting the Blooper red coins, pulling the Chain Chomp in Pianta Village to the hot tub, and getting the Sand Bird red coins, all of which seem like a near-impossible task with the chaos edition

It won't matter how many shines you need to beat the game. The only way to beat Sunshine is by beating episode 7 of every single level of the game: Bianco Hills Ricco Harbor Gelato Beach Pinna Park Noki Bay Serrena Beach Pianta Village

I know I'm late but even before reaching the final episode I had a suspicion that they didn't aim to beat the game... Too chaotic, even by Mario 64 Chaos standards. I guess it could be beatable but I sincerly doubt it: the Sandbird requires you stay still a lot but here Mario spazzes everywhere. If there's a window where nothing bad happens, the odds are probably one to a million but no one has half an eternity at his disposal so yeah, probably unbeatable...

That's the good thing about this Chaos Edition: While it does have a lot of really unfair codes, it also can give you an infinite jump code, like it's trying to balance the bad with the good. ...Of course, there are some Shines where infinite jumps mean nothing...

Love the series so far guys! Keep it up! But a word of advice: You can’t beat the game unless you’ve beaten Level 7 (the shadow mario one) of each world. So I don’t know if that’s your goal or if your just doing random stuff. Either way I love it! Great job

Quick tip: On the beach outside the entrance of the Gelato Beach level, spray the sand at the right of the lighthouse until a Shine Sprite image appears, and you get a shine (star)!

In order to open the Bowser level you need to collect the seventh Shine in each of the other levels. This usually means that you need to collect each of the first seven Shines per level, but in a way Gelato Beach is the exception. Because it's actually possible to clip through the fruit grinder to get the eighth Shine Sprite early, which will allow you to access any Shine Sprite you want from the menu. I don't know if any of the Chaos Edition hacks will help you grab that Shine early, but if you can pull it off you just might be able to skip the Sand Bird altogether.

It's not about how many shines you have; it actually has to do with the stages with Shadow Mario in them. You have to complete all of those before the stinkin' volcano opens up (which is gonna be a problem in and of itself once you get to it, if it comes that far), and the final boss is unlocked.

By the way, each of the those platforming levels have 2-3 extra lives that you may want to try to collect if you have the opportunity. Generally you can get them by Ground Pounding the nails that are sticking out of the ground.

PBG there is no set number of Shine Sprites you need to beat the game. In order to get to the final boss you need to beat Shadow Mario in every level and Shadow Mario is always the 7th Shine Sprite in a level

You can do this game's variant of the long jump by combining the B button with any of your jumps to either increase distance of height to the jump. I have no way to test it myself but when you're stuck with the derpy Mario jumps doing A+B might bypass the derpy jumps. As far as defeating the Sand Bird it was discovered somewhat recently that Gelato Beach (and thus the Sand Bird) is almost entirely skippable. The way to do this is to use the glitch that was discovered that involves you going to the tiki bar where the Watermelon Festable is held and using a coconut to clip Mario into the glass case that contains the shine sprite. Once the shine sprite is obtained it unlocks episodes 1-8 of Gelato Beach which you can then skip all the way to Episode 7 in order to skip the entirety of Gelato Beach. This glitch can be done as early as Episode 1 of Gelato Beach and normally involves and INCREADIBLY difficult glitch to do successfully. That being said with all those chaos codes going on you might be able to cheese it. Also someone pointed out last episode that there's a good chance you might get tricked into accidentally deleting your save file when the game messes up the main menu. You might wanna make copies of the save file or do some off-screen save states at the end of each recording just in case the Chaos Edition decides to try and end its relationship with you. EDIT: There's a few 1-Up Mushrooms hidden around Delfino Plaza. The three that would be the easiest for you to get consistently is the 1-Up hidden underwater in the alcove between the Cannon to Pinna Park and the Sewer entrance that takes you to the island with the lady Pianta on it; the 1-Up that spawns when you spray the campfire on the island with the goop pipe; the 1-Up that's accessable via an invisible sewer entrance near the Sunglasses Guy and the Umbrellas.

Mario glowed over the island in stars then ran away from toads. A tree broke then Mario died. Mario bounced around then entered a level. The beach! He hopped around in the distance while building a sand castle. He ran into the sand castle then the ground attacked him. Mario sighed and tried to sit down when an invisible foot kicked him over the edge of a ledge. He entered the main level and fell through the ground. He fought the sludge monster AGAIN and it ran away. After fighting it for what felt like forever he finally beat it. He entered the beach again. He half flew and half jumped into the sand castle. He became invisible then got shocked. It gave him his powers back and he got a shine! Mario sped around for a bit trying to get the top of a tower. He fell off a platform then sprayed a few plants. He became invisible but his reflection wasn't gone! Then got "stupid jump" then Moon jump right after that. The shine appeared at the top of the tower for no reason. And mario got a shine! He struggled getting it though. Then everyone chased him.
