Super Mario Sunshine Part 1: Clean is better than dirty!

Here's a weird detail I noticed. The story of Sunshine, the second 3D Mario game, is about Mario being framed by an imposter, Mario gets thrown in prison, he gets out, and he's out to not only clean the mess, but also catch Shadow Mario and clear his name. The plot of Adventure 2, the second 3D Sonic game, is about Sonic being blamed for the crimes caused by a look-alike (not exactly an imposter, but close enough), Sonic gets thrown in prison, breaks out, and he's out to not only stop Eggman's latest scheme, but also to catch Shadow The Hedgehog and clear his name.

I love this game, I see no problem with the cut scenes OR the voice acting, even Bowser! I don't know why some people don't like super Mario sunshine. I actually enjoy it a bit more than either of the galaxy games!

People don't like Mario Sunshine as much as 64 or Galaxy because getting 100% in this game is both tedious and pointless. Searching every nook and cranny for 30 Blue Coins in every level is so boring and tedious, plus some Blue Coins can only be accessed during specific missions which makes it even MORE tedious because you have to search through every single mission to find the few Blue Coins you missed. It almost requires you to use a guide because of how annoying these are to find and in which mission you need to find them. I haven't used a guide yet but i dont really have any motivation to get the final 40 Blue Coins I need for 100% cause I find it that tedious and dull, plus I dont care about the stupid postcard at the end of the credits. looks like my file will be stuck at 116 Shine Sprites for awhile. Just to clear things up, I really like this game but the Blue Coins keep it from being better than 64 and Galaxy

superlab16 I agree, I forgot about the blue coins. I think that's the main reason why people don't like the game, and even I would prefer to be playing levels to get shines rather than doing a collectathon style blue coin hunt.

Fun Fact: In the Japanese version of this game, during the opening cutscene after Shadow Mario vanishes from Peach's sight, you can faintly hear Mario saying "Look's like Mario's gonna have to find a job," Toadsworth then asks "Are you starting a new career?" And goes back to to their original conversation. Despite being removed from the International versions, it is spoken in clear English.

I will agree that it's weird Super Mario Galaxy doesn't have any decent voice acting, besides Peach's letter at the beginning. Rosalina doesn't talk in the cinematic preceding Bowser's Galaxy Reactor, so she just mouths a bunch of words while we have to read some text on the bottom of the screen. It's...awkward to watch. I like that Bowser never talks though; he sounds much better when he's just growling. He didn't even need that text in the final cinematic.
