Nintendo tries to stay away from same gendered love content in their games, as they maybe fear of those stereotypical religious people (like my crazy grandma) who really hates that sort of thing, even though doing so is legal, at least where I live anyways. They'd shove rage at Nintendo if in an AU Nintendo did that. But yeah, that "couple" would be kinda funny, since it'd be something Nintendo would never do. You know who DOESN'T fear that kind of thing with his own games? Toby Fox (I assume that's not his real name), as he did that sort of thing twice in Undertale. And sorta did it again, but in Deltarune. With additional characters too.

Peach being the true finale boss would’ve been a fantastic twist 😂 Like you fight Bowser first and then Peach takes over and back stabs Bowser (who she pretends to be into after she’s kidnapped so she could take control of his army) With Bowser helping Mario defeat Peach in the true finale fight.

The story is that In Super Crown Fan Lore, Peach is depicted as a major diva who just wants Mario's attention, and she stopped getting it after Mario got the serious relationship that Peach never gave him by getting together with Bowsette. So Peach kidnaps Bowsette because it forces Mario to pay attention to her.
