I love how you touched upon the fact that food doesn't have to be "mind blowing". I discovered in recovery how for so many years, I had put food up on a holy, moral pedastool because the other areas in my life were lacking, in meaning, purpose and satisfaction, not to mention the sacred self worth aspect. So everything had to be "perfect". Just last night I made something to eat for the next day and it was "blah" but I made note and appreciated the time and effort I took to make it after a long, tiring day to budget and save money on eating out. Food doesn't have TO BE PERFECT to taste good, and that goes for life too! Allow yourself the grace to make mistakes and have "blah" days with "blah" emotions and honor THAT'S OKAY TOO. It's called being human. Really enjoy your personal thoughts on how and why you choose food and your journey of processing.

I need to learn how to not be disappointed when a food or meal just isn’t good. Lately I’m trying to eat what sounds good even if it isn’t the healthiest because I just need what will satisfy me that that time

Hi Colleen, I really like this video and the other videos I've seen of what you eat in a day. I like the choices you make and I really appreciate your thoughts as to what you choose and why. I really like learning about how intuitive eating is in the living of it. Thanks!

Freeze yoghurt you buy from the shops (although, take it out and put it in a freeze safe container, because their standard packing isn't freeze safe). You get Froyo. You're welcome.

I like the banana, Greek yogurt, granola snack. Might try that. I usually have all those ingredients in the house. And I see how I could vary it depending on what I want. Maybe add honey or raisins, etc.

Could you please share your exercise routine? You mentioned in the beginning that you went for a run, how long, how many miles, etc. It's great that you can eat freely and stay slender. If I ate like that I'd certainly be obese.

I love the S&F birthday cake granola. I remember not having granola when I was on WW (too many points). Even today, seeing you pour it on your snack instead of measuring two TBSP was mind-blowing 🤯. 🤣 I am exaggerating, but it affirmed that I am on a healthy path, mentally & physically, with IE. I learned that maybe it's okay to have my sandwich with TWO pieces of bread (regular, not 35-cal) with my sandwich & still eat grapes, maybe even sun chips 😉. I would've loved to have had these resources available to me when I was much younger. Thank you for great work you do.

The diet culture banana rule was definitely a thing for me. Which made me want to eat at least 2 large bananas daily for quite some time. Love them! Could you do a video talking about body image or how you dealt with weight gain (if any, because you're still naturally thin) in the first few months intuitively eating? Did your weight stabilize soon after or did it go up and all over the place for a long time? I'm only asking bc I want to feel comfortable again and find homeostasis. And I need reassurance I guess that it won't take like 2 years 🥲 I restricted without going super low calorie (athlete) for at least a year and got super low body fat (but high muscle)...but now am eating significantly more bc it's not healthy for my mind or body to be that lean. But it hopefully won't be as huge a shock eating more, compared to someone who has eaten barely any calories and that my fluctuations will finally stabilize and I'd feel better. Sorry for the book , love your videos and podcast 🤣🤗

These videos are a lot of fun, and help me with the practice of Gentle Nutrition. I can totally identify with “food blahs”. Sometimes I can overcome them if I get the right balances, but other times I just chew, swallow, and get on with life - and no big deal! Another blessing really. Food does not have to be “exciting” -even if it’s not, it may still be satisfying. But there’s always another meal coming up soon. And since there’s no ”diet” in the mix, that meal or snack has a good chance of being satisfying. So there’s no “urgency” any more. A relief! P.S. The granola is really good. Picked up some Strawberry Shortcake flavor at the CostCo tonight. I’ll be ordering some more from their website soon. 😀 Thanks!

In italy we dont eat chips on a regular basis, here they're considered junk/fun food for parties, happy hour, etc. We dont consider them a good source of carbs and we eat bread and pasta instead. So they became a fear food for me, I dont buy them, I eat them rarely and I would never build a daily meal with them...how can I change that?

The Socieaty that Colleen offers (you can find information on her website) helps you do just that, break your food rules. I'm saving money to invest in it but if you have the means, highly recommend it from the podcasts I've l heard from people who have enrolled. It's been a life changing decision. In the meantime, recommend following her Instagram account if you don't already where she posts awesome videos and posts to help you can supported. Don't give up!

Is it normal to crave for a lot of chocolate during my period? I had 4 dark choco squares and a magnum mini ice cream in order to feel satisfied from my craving, but I am feeling guilty right now
@princessbabibear47942 жыл бұрын
I think maybe the issue isn't the chocolate. It is perhaps a vitamin and mineral deficiency Try taking a coenzyme B complex and chelated magnesium everyday and krill oil or other fish oil supplement Three times a week. I like the brand Bluebonnet. It is what my daughter's pediatrician recommended and they sell their stuff on Amazon. Take a deep breath and realize food and what and how much you eat is not what defines you. You were fearfully and wonderfully made by God and YOU ARE LOVED. Your love, significance and security come from God. 💕💕💕

Super normal! Also, don't think you have to force yourself to eat dark chocolate if you don't truly enjoy it. I know that can be a diet culture rule a lot of us hold onto. I'm working on breaking that myself.
