While there's still plenty left to experience in Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, what I've played has delighted me. The gameplay feels natural and intuitive right out of the gate, and the beginning stages of Adventure Mode have a familiar, confident design that I can easily see becoming brutal near the end.
The Battle Mode gripped me for a bit, too, and there's still a great deal of character customization, 16-player online, and other features to look forward to. Monkey Ball is the type of series that always tries to appeal to prospective players and veteran fans, and Banana Rumble is no different. Still, the originality and ambition here are evident, so I'm eager to see it all coalesced in full.

Thanks for this! This answered most of my questions about the game, like if bots were usable as opponents. Are they usable in EVERY minigame including race I assume? Also, I dont' suppose there's some cool arcade-style high score mechanic anywhere is there? Like saving your high score in Robot Smash or whatever it is? I know the adventure mode records your fastest level times, right? I just like high scores. Thanks for the preview video!

Thanks for the video, I like to hear it's accessible to newcomers. I tried to play Banana Mania a while back, got to 1-8 or 12 I think and just couldn't figure it out. I'd like to give it another shot so I'll check this out later

Banana Mania's problem is that it uses old level design with inaccurate physics to those old games. It's a bad remaster type game.

@@Chris_Towerhardcore monkey ball fans really over exaggerate the flaws. as a newcomer, it’s fine and you shouldn’t have many issues. the main issues with the new physics in banana mania are when it comes to its master stages (which are like stage 250+). but if you’re getting stuck in the first 8 levels then this probably just isn’t the franchise for you. also the crash trilogy is praised as being a fantastic remake? idk why you’re using that as your example as a subpar rerelease. crash insane trilogy is universally praised as being better than the originals.

considering this video literally only shows levels from within the first 2 worlds (so first 20 levels) and this game has 200, you’ll be fine. will it be as difficult as the originals? no this is still trying to go for a wider audience. but will the later game at least be more difficult? definitely.

Not seeing any hard levels. No challenge mode or lives either. Come on, at least make them optional sega. Don’t force the easy mode on us

this preview literally only shows levels from world 2 maximum… they aren’t gonna be super difficult there. and there will be a challenge arcade mode. this game has 200 confirmed stages, it won’t just be all in a campaign. whether or not it has lives will be debatable, but i’m leaning more towards no since lives in video games have become increasingly outdated and unnecessary now. just there to fake difficulty. it’s the only part of the original monkey ball games that’s outdated.
