Top tip gang. If you keep falling off and the assist helper is annoying you as it keeps popping up. Head into the setting and turn the pop up off. Its a big help.

VGP had a deal where if you pre-ordered Banana Rumble Legendary Banana Edition, you also got Banana Mania for free. I learned about it on the last day of the pre-order window and luckily got my order in just in time. Both arrived today. I've known about Super Monkey Ball since its inception, but never have played any of them. I feel like I got a good deal and am looking forward to finally trying out the franchise.

@@PiePiePie07 Glad you got it too! I got it by pure, dumb luck. I stumbled upon a video by SwitchWatch which mentioned that the deal was still available but ending that day. For me not owning either, it was a no-brainer. I was surprised how fast it arrived. (I'm in the Midwest U.S.; still waiting on Luigi's Mansion 2 HD to be delivered.) I will be popping Banana Rumble in sometime tomorrow based on your suggestion! Here's to hoping we both enjoy it!

I emulated it on the Steam Deck and to my surprise, like other GameCube games like Viewtiful Joe holds up really well both control and gameplay wise.. I reckon they could just remaster it and sell it for $30 and it’ll do decently well.

After playing just about every Monkey Ball Game. This one is as close as its been to the original in terms of physics. I'm excited that Sega continues to put some Love into the series and that they keep supporting it with some DLC and other pre order bonuses. I do love 1/2 the most, but this is definitely close up there. With the NiGHTS costume in the DLC pack, I'm really hopeful that we can get another NiGHTS game again. Hell even Samba De Amigo got another sequel!

I loved playing the first two games on the GameCube and still do to this day, I skipped most of the games that came out after as they just didn’t hold up as well but happily jumped back into the franchise with the “big box” of Banana Mania on the Switch and after watching this video will likely be picking up this new one as well! I also enjoy going for new quickest times and trying to “trick shot” my way through the level skipping as much as I can :p

I tried to play Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, my 1st Super Monkey Ball. After a couple of lvls, when they started to become harder, I started to get motion sickness and couldn't continue to play. It's a bummer cause I actually like the arcade style of the game. But its just not for me.

Here here. I’m noticing a lot of issues with modern developers. Either they cut corners or they actually just don’t know how to develop games like people in the past used to. Could be the latter, modern game dev is more hands off with custom made engines and code bases you just buy and insert. When you don’t have to make your own, you don’t have to learn how to optimise it

I still think the strangest thing about this release is the fact it's a switch exclusive. I'm guessing they figured out through sales that the last games sold really well on switch and just said screw it. Although I fully expect some version to hit the other consoles at some point at least PlayStation and probably PC maybe not Xbox.

only a few games have gotten me nauseated. Sometimes in borderlands 2 on ps3 I would get that way. Quantum conundrum, one of the indie ps+ games on ps3, got me so sick trying to follow a path of wires by looking at the ground I actually quit playing games entirely for the day and felt like I just had to sleep to possibly quit feeling nauseous. Ended up deleting quantum conundrum and never tried it again.

Car sickness pills help the same sickness that you get from VR games, games with bad FoV, and games with screen shake like this one. It’s all motion sickness. The good news is you CAN get used to it over time but obviously it sucks until you do. I used to hurl after only 5 mins of VR. Now I’m up to 2-3 hours

The graphics to me, came off low res. I swear my pro controller was a little better with the game than my joycons in portable mode. The maze designs and environments are top notch. I still think q & 2 on the GC are the best. One of the Wii ones was pretty good.

Really enjoying this one - the controls are so much better than Banana Mania. Still not quite there though which is bizarre as the Banana Blitz remake from 2019 was pretty spot on. Multiplayer is sub 30 fps most of the time though - painful.

I was a big fan of SMB 1/2 on the GC, but i was disapointed from the more recent releases, so i originaly decided to not buy this one. Now, after seeing this, i must say this game looks really good, so i might reconcider. -But then i have to decide between Switch and Steam... which usually results in just putting it on the wishlists and never buy it. When will we get cross platform buy?- Edit: Nevermind, looks like this one is Switch exclusive.

The Levels are way to easy compared to the original 2 games from Gamecube. I wish they kept the difficulty higher. This one holds your hand alot.

I think there is a visibility issue on this game. There are 3 Monkey balls in the same console generation that are hard to distinguish from each other if you don't already know about the game. With 2 of them being remakes without any indication of their order (Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD, Monkey Ball Banana Mania, Monkey Ball Banana Rumble), on the surface their Key art and color palete very similar, as well as their screen shots, how are casual players even supposed to know which one is the new one, let alone arguably the most modern/feature complete one? On the eshop I don't think this game is even cracking the top 75! I feel like they should have held on this game until a new console came around. A lot of games avoid this by their consumers asking "I want the Monkey Ball for this console", and if there are more than one, at least they are numbered. I feel the game is strong and is deserving of sales. This is just really saddening.

I just realized that the next major Switch release is in fact that Zelda game (Nintendo World Championship doesn't count) and it won't come out untill the end of September... Its gonna be a very boring summer, you can tell the Switch 2 was meant to come out this fall before it got pushed to early next year.

@@Alorso_ Or SEGA testing grounds. Because, Monkey Ball had been REALLY struggling as an IP for quite some time, especially after Super Monkey Ball 2. Deluxe was not a good port on EITHER system, Adventure sucked, Banana Blitz didn't impress that much, Step & Roll also sucked, and Banana Splitz practically killed the franchise for a while. Hell, Nagoshi clearly had more focus on Yakuza/Like A Dragon by comparison. Honestly, it's kind of nice Switch has an exclusive, even if temporary, considering everyone else had Yakuza to themselves, and RGG has just blatant bullshit as to why they'll never go to Switch (not even Rockstar will use that sort of excuse anymore with GTA and Red Dead Redemption).

I love the Monkey Ball series. The level design in this game is a step up from previous games and isn't exactly like super monkey ball 1&2, but I feel like it's getting closer to the high-quality level design those games had. My only two complaints with the game so far are the difficulty curve and the physics system. In the GameCube and Xbox games, the difficulty seemed to gradually increase, and things would step by step get harder as you were introduced to new mechanics, but in this game in no time i zoomed from world 1 to 5 and felt like the difficulty or complexity had not changed much outside of one or two levels. The physics system in the old games was nice where you could gain speed by bouncing off of stuff, and you would do the diagonal movement to build up speed faster. In this game I was expecting to use my speed to clip the ledge of platforms to jump over a gap to skip part of a level, but that did not work like it would in games past. Overall, I am having lots of fun with the game, and the menus and new art style are lovely. Would give this game a 7 or 7.5/10 because it is a fun time even if it could be improved by trying to make the physics closer to SMB 1, 2 & Deluxe

personally I don't trust RGG Studios with the party games because from what i've seen they ruined a lot of the party games in Banana Mania so its better for the new game to not have any.

@@satyamSaha Those party games seemed ok to me, though I feel that the paragliding one controlled better on the GameCube. But for the most part they seemed ok.

The party games aren't the best but they finally listened and included the Multiplayer aspect for levels which is what a lot of people been waiting for. (I gave up hoping for any good Monkey Target, Golf, or even Bowling again sadly)
