Small update... I've cancelled my Amazon order and sourced both SP elsewhere. Still clearly no stock in the main retailers such as Argos, Amazon, Game and Menkind.

⁠Argos availability for the two units went to 7 days. I was tempted to buy the Technos unit from them but it appears the availability is outside of their usual delivery network and is likely shipped directly from their supplier and not their usual warehouses etc?? So I have no idea if an order would result in a delivery in 7 days. Especially as it’s not in stock on even the Funstock UK website.

@@Stephen-2097 Supply might be short but to be honest come the new year I'm sure there will be plenty to go around, and you can still get Capcom & Taito and cases from Funstock so Technos pocket is here to stay for the foreseeable.

Channel Islands here. I ordered from Amazon on 6th Aug, same situation. Argos, Game, Smyths don't deliver to the CI - we are outside of the UK after all, although served by Royal Mail. While Funstock deliver, they charge international delivery £7 and have a minimum order value. When I know that, with that weight, the actual delivery for Royal Mail 2nd Class is about £3 - it says it on parcels. Amazon I get free delivery and no minimum order value, so I tend to resort to Amazon. If the Amazon gets cancelled it looks like I've missed out on the Technos.

@@NathanThomas82 jeez.. brutal. I'm sure they'll get stock eventually. But right now it's just a very frustrating situation. Blaze need to put more effort into their relationship with Amazon. Not entirely blaming Blaze here as I've heard that Amazon aren't the easiest to work with. However I have no issues with anything else I order from Amazon.

Sorry to hear about your situation regarding deliveries, that’s frustrating for sure and not just for games consoles etc. I’m sure Amazon will get stock in eventually. I noticed that they often allow multiples of units to be ordered on pre orders, I wonder if some people have ordered huge numbers of devices with the intention of selling via marketplaces but I’ve not checked to see what’s being sold on eBay etc. Games consoles and retro products are targeted by scalpers because of the demand and prices some people are willing to pay for such devices, especially for Xmas and if they are perceived to be rarer items. For what it’s worth I’ve not had any other problems with Amazon pre orders and it only seems to be Blaze products that end up being unavailable, even if you’ve pre ordered. For sure I hope they can do something about this, so that this situation doesn’t happen again. It’s not limited to Amazon either, smyths, game, argos are all out of stock in stores and their own usual delivery networks. I myself am now still waiting for Funstock to ship my Atari device, I only have an order confirmation at the moment 😬

Checked the Evercade VS-R stock on Amazon UK this morning and they're now selling the VS-R through Amazon UK as opposed to Amazon EU but funnily enough the country of origin is Germany. I've ordered one now because if there's any problems I'm only dealing with Amazon UK and they also offered 5 months interest free to sweeten the deal. Let's see if this one turns up :-)

I’ve seen a listing for UK version and country of origin is France 🤔 There is still the Amazon EU version available although stocks are in low single digits. If I buy anything on Amazon I only buy from Amazon itself or a third party marketplace item from a company I know and trust etc It’s a real pity that Blaze don’t seem to be getting the units to Amazon. For some people it’s a safe and convenient way to get items, especially if you’re using a local Amazon locker. I did end up getting my VS-R from Funstock and it came super fast and really well packed.

Secured Technos SP via Argos and Atari SP via Funstock. The Technos from Argos came directly from their supplier via Royal Mail (not tracked) but arrived in two days. It was very well packed. The Atari from Funstock that I ordered last week was delayed a bit due to a technical issue at Funstock, received an email from support super quick and they apologized for the delay. The unit came really well packed and was also via Royal Mail but included tracking which is always good to have. All in all I’m happy with the service from Argos and Funstock. Delivery was free in each case and both items well packed. 😀 I think Argos still have both units available for delivery and Atari was still in stock via Funstock the last time I checked. The also seem to have the VS-R available sporadically. Atari unit was also available direct from Amazon a day ago. So it seems units are out there if you’re looking 😀

Funstock shipped my Atari Woodgrain Super Pocket on the 4th October, and I got it the next day! I thought it 'odd' as I was sure it didn't officially release till the end of this month... Oh well, it's here, it's great, and yeah...had it about 2.5 weeks now! 👍🏻

I actually wished I’d ordered this version as a few reviews I’ve seen of it and it looks fantastic. Functionally it’s the same as the standard version but the wood grain and colors look great. It would have been great if all of the Atari units had that design 😀

Ultimately this is Blaze's issue, and they really need to get a handle on this because it's just bad PR for them. Having said that, Amazon are sketchy at best with pre orders. I only ever buy Evercade products from Funstock and they have never let me down. Why Blaze aren't actually addressing this is beyond me though. The Alphas are out soon, and I would expect the exact same thing with them too. I haven't ordered any of the new hardware so I'm not waiting on anything, but for those that have, they deserve an explanation from Blaze for sure.

I have a suspicion that the same problem might not happen with the Alphas. Maybe just maybe, because of the price and niche, the demand might not be there like it is for the VS-R and super pockets. So even if they have a small number of units to sell, there may be enough to go around. The EXP-R on the other hand. There’s been no further update on that, we do t know what the issue was with the hardware or software. I haven’t ordered that because I’m going to wait on reviews and the experience of first users considering the issues the second gen device had. I hope the thermals/battery run time are indeed better. On the Funstock UK website the Alphas are available for pre order. VS-R sold out, pre orders for EXP-R sold out. Amazon and others still accepting pre orders 🤔

From the hardware side of things. The original super pockets was where I drew the line like come on now really. I will say though. Argos is the most reliable place to get evercade related stuff. I've pre-ordered every new release since 2022 and never once been let down. That also includes the Evercade VS when I first jumped on board and the original evercade EXP. Amazon is very unreliable it seems regarding Blaze products. I can't deny these super pockets do look cool but I will not buy them purely because I don't want a never ending line-up of super pockets. More carts less hardware.

This is definitely a Blaze problem and they need to get on top of these issues. Amazon has really only ever let me down with Blaze products ... coincidence, I don't think so. Hope you get yours soon :-)

I've had Amazon cancel pre-orders of other products lately, not just Blaze ones. I've found you cannot rely on them anymore. I was lucky enough to walk into Game on the 21st and they had one of each Super Pocket only.

I’ve not had issues with Amazon on any other products. I hope both parties can improve the situation between Blaze and Amazon as it’s not great, especially the customers. Pre orders are meant to be a special way to secure a unit on release for those special items we desire. It’s not the most important thing in the world but when it does t turn up it’s a disappointment for sure.

The listing at the higher price is for the EU version. It’s a separate listing, and is shipped from the EU and through customs to get to people in UK that order it. That costs money so Amazon probably would make less money on it than the UK version if they had any in stock in the UK. So ironically they would be taking a bigger hit on it and therefore less profitable. No one but Blaze really knows what’s going on. My Amazon pre order didn’t arrive either and so I cancelled it. Ended up getting it from Funstock. I mean it arrived next day and was packaged really well. But I found it odd that Blaze don’t seem to be getting enough units to their major retail partners in the UK. The whole situation is rather bizarre and frustrating for evercade fans.

⁠I really wonder how their relationship with a whole bunch of major retailers is doing. This situation can be a nightmare for support staff at those companies. Especially if pre orders cannot be honored. Surely they must have had an idea of how many pre orders there were? That they could then reach out immediately to customers or just not allow any more pre ordering. At least Amazon don’t take your money until it actually ships…

Super Pockets are terrible. Bad sound control and no display brightness adjustment!!!! It burns your eyes at night! Im selling mine. Get an evercade instead!

They are decent for the price for those really new to evercade and wanting to try it out, a small gift for a retro fan or something for retro fans that appreciate one of the compilations of games. Some of these compilations are not available legally anywhere else. For its price it’s decent, but I do agree that a brightness adjustment would be a welcome update. That’s one thing I noticed immediately. Headphones can help with sound quality and overall, for their price they have a decent build quality for sure.
