Not sure if it was omitted for space reasons, but Mac's power punches (Uppercut and Hook), and Nick's Cannon Barrage, do damage when blocked. Would it be possible to figure those out? Probably would take a while, though.

@@KurisuBlaze the fact that nick bruiser is the only opponent in the game that has attacks that still damage when blocked (as far as I remember) gives a perspective to how powerful Mac's uppercuts and hooks really are.

There is a way to hit Bear Hugger in the body, however it does no real damage (that I can see anyways). When he’s waving at you, you can land one body shot. Helps to speed along his patterns though.

​@smhaceofspades2813 Literally just start the match with your guard down, then quickly spam right face punches until he gets dizzy and super punch him exactly 1/4 of a second after the time he gets dizzy (eg. He gets dizzy at 6.01, you want the super to land at 6.26) You will get a high 6 to low 7 with this

Great video! Always nice to see some SPO love. One thing to note; Gabby Jay: From the Punch-Out wiki: "When Gabby Jay moves to the left or right after his corner man tells him to stop attacking (the "Back off, catch your breath"), hit him in the opposite direction to the direction he moves." So if he does a right dodge, hit him with a left body blow as he comes back for an Instant Knockdown. EDIT: Forgot to mention those rapid blows at the beginning of Nick were insane. I didn't know you could do that.

Ah nice, I had never done that one before. For Nick, I hadn't either until I was messing around for this video. You need to have the flashing speed gloves as well as do the rapid punch. I guess it's a pretty tight window because he would block it most of the time after he isn't stunned anymore. The last 3 or so hits are after he is stunned and they cancel out some of his punches. I'm sure there are tons of things like that in this game. I'll make a list here of cool stuff, and hopefully links to videos showing the techniques.

@@philive1681 When the player has flashing gloves, that means that Mac(?) is in hyper mode. He's faster (obviously.), All super punches, rapids do much more damage. You can have that as manual, or auto.

Clown actually has another instant knockdown, after he throws his juggle balls, a well timed jab when he is rolling back will send him down

Fun fact is if you watch the end credits, the demo of Mac beatin the ass out of whoever it is is talking to you at the time, the pattern he does CAN be replicated, and are valid strategies to get good times on those bosses. They aren't world records, but I mean those are clearly just recorded button presses. So you can do them too.

I'm trying to practice counterpunches against Nick and I can only do it 50% at the greatest because there's no way I'll be able to react to whether he's using his left or his right hand, I can only react to him bringing his fists up for a face punch or freezing for a gut punch. I did actually manage to dizzy him once, didn't get the instant KD after that though.

When gabby jay does catch your breath, you can use a left jab to make him slip the punch then catch him with an uppercut on his way back

I was wondering if I was the only player to really abuse Rapid Punches, even sending Nick to the mat with them. I see lots of SPO players acting like rapid punches don't exist, and I'm like "why? they're some of the coolest things to do". Masked Muscle, Nick, and sometimes Super Macho Man can be hilarious when you keep rapid punching them enough. It's harder to do, but funny to nail Aran Ryan with them as he talks about how your wimpy punches don't faze him, well.... one bee sting won't do much but a thousand will.

One of my favorite things to do in this game is to get my opponent dizzy, then rapid punch them a little late to stun them instead of knock them out, get them dizzy AGAIN, then repeat until they go down

If you get the timing right, you can abuse the super body on Dragon Chan. But if you land a successful super body on him, punch him again and again with super body. The best way to start a super body punch is right after he does a flying kick.

They're fan-made pictures, they aren't official as you can tell by the face that A: A city of origin is provided, which doesn't happen in SNES SPO, and B: Mr. Sandman's record is wrong (29-3 is his actual record for SNES SPO, the fan-made picture says his record is 28-4.).
