Dear Colin. I don't know where to put this question, and hopefully you will give your opinion on it. I really enjoy your youtube videos. They are informative, easy to follow, and contrary to many others, they are really practical hand-ons. I am more a photographer than movie guy, but often I edit music/live recordings in Premiere Pro, and I have tried your audio advices, I have tried the parametric EQ, etc., but in the end whatever I do, the sound is different, when played on an other player (eg. VLC). I can understand that, BUT: Why does the audio on a different player depend on if I have turned Premiere Pro ON or OFF? This is an ols thread, I know, but I would love to be lead in the right direction. Merry Christmas and thanks for your time! Jan from DK

I haven't used the audio panel because it seemed gimmicky and I thought I'd have to edit each clip individually. It's good to know I can reset the settings if I select all the clips. That's a crazy powerful feature and I can learn what I should be messing with by looking at the effects placed in the clips.

Great tutorial! But why there is no Audio presets (dialogue, music, ambience) in Premiere Pro cc 2020 and how I will obtain and install?
@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 4 жыл бұрын
You're looking for the Essential Sound panel. Look at the top of Premiere Pro for Workspaces and select the one called Audio. This will open the Essential Sound panel. If it doesn't, double-click on the Audio Workspace to reset it. Once the Essential Sound panel opens, select the Edit tab in that panel.

Thanks Dear Colin. I mean that I made all those you reference, but PRESETS NOT APPEAR e.g. Balanced Male Voice, Balanced Female Voice, From Distanse, From Telefone etc. I work on Premiere ver. 2020/14.4.0 (build 38). The sequence I am working on is a 2160p on a "very low budget" independend feature documentary. How I can obtain and/or install? (In the opposite, in my cheaper laptop with version 14.0.2 (BUILD 104) where I attended the lesson of Adobe "Working with Audio" these presets appear normally.)

Thanks fro the video, Colin. At about 2.53 you do a before and after comparison of the audio, with and without the essential sound panel changes - my question is, what short cut did you use to toggle between the two, essentially previewing the before and after. I used the undo/redo way, but found this a bit clunky. Cheers again for your great videos!

I am not turning the effects off at that point, I'm just playing back the Timeline. What you may be hearing is the Adaptive Noise effect kicking in after the first clip.

Hi Colin, another dumb question, is there any way to export (pro res 422 ) from premiere PC. Or there is equivalent?
@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 6 жыл бұрын
If you're using macOS, it should be available. If you're on Windows, then you don't have that option (Apple refuses to license ProRes encode to Adobe!). A good substitute is GoPro Cineform or DNxHD. But, if you are creating media to share with others, then those formats are not universally playable. For a more universal format, H.264 is best.

Thank you for this (and all!) your tutorials. Your channel is a real gold mine. Regarding audio editing, I am curious whether there might be an "audio ducking" (or sidechain compression) option in Premiere Pro? Say dialogue is on Track 1, background music on Track 2, is there a way to automatically (and proportionally) reduce the volume of Track 2 whenever audio is present on Track 1? Hope my question is clearly formulated... Thanks!
@VideoRevealed

Because this may not be the newest when U refer to the latest version of PPCC please start what version it is i.e. 2017 or 2018 Thanks. It helps me keep track of things. Now off topic I under stand that Adobe has eliminated Dolby 5.1 editing in 2018 True or False?Also am I allowed to have an older version say 2017 and a newer version 2018 at the same time?
@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 6 жыл бұрын
I put together a message as to why I don't show versions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5uodad-j6mamMk Adobe does not ship with a Dolby license anymore. As a result, all previous CC versions are no longer available as they still had a Dolby license as part of the installer. You can install CS6 and CC 2018 or newer. Here's the announcement: helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/dolby-end-of-support.html

I have noticed that your typical edits don't have back to back clips on the same track like in the first part. However in the second video section they were all on the same track. When and why are moving clips to different tracks? This seems to be an editing "strategy" or technique or best practice that I don't understand.
@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 6 жыл бұрын
I'm sure more experienced editors than me would have a lot to say about that but it's more about convenience for me. If I think I might need to easily select certain clips, then I'll put them on their own track. But, the downside is, you now have to manager two tracks when trimming and any general moving of clips on the Timeline.

its great that editors have access to these kinds of tools, but it should be noted that, unless the final mix is being mixed in Premiere, that setting complicated plugin presets across Dialog or FX or music is not a great idea as you can get unexpected results when you pass the session to audio post for mixing and or those efforts can be both problematic or redundant unnecessary labor. E.g. Mixing on near field monitors does not translate to a mix stage or to a theatrical deliverable. So for example; someone making a film for a festival submission would actually be causing mix issues. It is similar to color correcting on inaccurate monitors and expecting the correction to be consistent. Now if an editor is mixing, sound designing, dialog editing, music editing in the box, then approaching the process from a mixers point of view, rather than relying on automated setups, is really important. Especially dealing with final audio level delivery requirements for different platforms. Working with end stage compression and limiting as well as Global mix eq, etc...I think you make informative videos and appreciate the work and efforts but also think it is important for editors to understand audio signal flow and real mixing concepts? Just my 2 cents...
@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 2 жыл бұрын
I agree completely and figured any editor sending their audio out would not watch this or only use it for temp work. You can globally remove all the effects before sending out to post.

You can try to reset your profile: Look in your Documents folder for an Adobe folder. In there should be Premiere Pro and a number like 12.0. In that folder you should see Profile-[username]. If you quit Premiere Pro and move this folder somewhere else, Premiere Pro will rebuild the contents including the presets. If you've saved custom settings of any kind, then you'll have to reimport them or move them over from any of the sub-folders.

I'm going to have some new Premiere Pro CC 2018 title tutorials coming soon, so you can use it as inspiration. (but nothing specific to weddings) If you're getting paid to shoot weddings (I hope you are) then my suggestion is to buy motion graphics packages from Envato Market and build that cost into what you charge for the wedding. Envato has absolutely incredible designs that I would never be able to create myself. Most are After Effects but you can still use them in Premiere Pro. videohive.net/category/motion-graphics?as=1&referrer=homepage&term=wedding&type=c&utf8=%E2%9C%93

If you can separate each speaking part on the Timeline and apply male to male and female to female, that's the best way. If both male and female are in the same clip, then use male.

Try this one: My problem was similar as yours... my preset list was empty and no match could not be found... it was related to a corrupt settings folder... so what I did is that I followed the instructions in the link at the end of my comment and that is, close Adobe Premiere then I moved (not copy) the "EssentialSound" folder under "documents>Adobe>Premiere pro>12.0>Profile-'user'>Settings [windows version]" to a different folder in my C drive.. then relaunch Adobe Premiere and this folder will be recreated (note, if you have custom presets make sure you copy them from the backup copy you did into the new EssentialSound folder that Adobe Premiere just recreated).. now I can see the Presets list with multiple options... the solution in detail is here: forums.adobe.com/thread/2307529

If Premiere Pro fails when trying to sync audio, there is nothing you can do. Sorry.

Hello. How can i bounce Two audio clips in one ?
@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 3 жыл бұрын
There are no bounce options in Premiere Pro. You'd have to put them in a Timeline, export them, then import that file.

Is there a way to put a limiter on the master?
@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can either add the effect to the Master channel or apply Loudness Normalization in the Effects tab of the Export dialog box. See this screenshot: imgur.com/a/NdGcQ

+VideoRevealed #offtopic, but i have an issue, i want import psd coloring file to premiere pro, but how do i apply coloring to mp4 video? any advice?

If you have the latest version of Premiere Pro CC 2018, then you can use the Lumetri Color Panel for color grading but there's not way to transfer swatch colors from Photoshop. If you are looking to do actual painting on the video, then you'd need After Effects for that.
