It's shocking how tiny the Diamond-T is compared to other photos! I love the lesser known American truck brands such as it, R. E. O, Studebaker and a few others that came and went. As always, Clay does an amazing job!

They were still building Diamond REOs in Harrisburg PA into the 1990’s.

the diamond t 201 came with a dual rear axle when the stake bed was installed on it. Usually there were two wood beams with the rear axle cutout to install the bed on. Also that back area is where the two saddle hangers pinned the gas tank to the back of the bottom of the truck frame.

I live in New Brighton and I would LOVE to have this truck, but it'd have to get a 6bt 12 valve with a NV4500 swap and some kind of bed. I'd give it a nice deep maroon metallic paint job, powdercoat the frame, a full custom interior, and put a nice chrome stack on it with a perforated chrome heatshield. It'd also get some PAC 1218 valve springs, a Power Driven Diesel upgraded P pump, a MUCH bigger turbo, and maybe an upgraded cam. I always have great dreams, but I don't have the bankroll to back them up. Maybe later in life...

I think you will find that was a one ton pickup someone made into a one and half ton I have seen heavy pick ups made by mack and diamond t that had single wheels in the rear and a large stepside body. but you are right they chopped the frame.

I really wanted to hear that old thing run, when I was a kid my neighbor had that same old truck with a dump body on it. Every time I would hear him starting it I would run over there to catch a ride in it.

That's a BITSA Diamond T truck - it isn't really worth much. That being said - I know you will price gouge some sucker desperate to own a 1941 Diamond T truck.

I do know what pristine Diamond T - Reo trucks sell for, and if they are fully restored, the only "negotiating " that will be done, is with the wife when decide to spend $50 to 70K on an 80-year-old truck! The Semi Tractor rigs with a vintage trailer or reefer are much more than that! Good luck with your "negotiations" Hope you get a satisfying price for it.
