If you pay attention, each member of the team's suits are tailored to the individual strengths of the wearer. Syllia has a combination of high mobility along with weapons designed to close in combat. Nene is the hacker and tech specialist of the team, her weapons for the most part are mainly defensive until Bubblegum Crash where her new suit has a sonic blaster weapons. Linna's suit is more extreme high mobility and designed more for hand to hand combat. Priss's suit is the most heavily armored because she is the brawler of the group and handles the heavy weapons. All the suits have limited flight capability and when they combine with motoroid it becomes an exo frame that carries a heavy cannon and can maintain extended flight.

One of the best thing about Bubblegum Crisis (other than its huge love for motorcycles) is that it's a 'Real Robot' vs 'Super Robot' show, and the 'Real Robot' group are the ones that generally end up winning.

Its real robot vs other real robots. I don't recall a single super robot anywhere in the show. No magical power sources, alien technologies, emotion powered robots, or black boxes. The technology used is advanced but comprehensible to in universe engineers and scientists. So yeah, no super robots.

I know this anime so well, I do not need or want subs. It is so much better without. I watched it in the 80’s when it first came out. And hooked on it ever since. The music truly makes the anime.

There is a yugioh card theme inspired by this with a cross of Samus Aran. It's called Sky Strikers. A girl with high tech gadgets and a mech hard suit that can transform, using various elements as well. There's a Manga based on Sky Striker currently being produced.
