Woah, Sousuke is using Lamba Driver shots outside of a special attack. That's pretty cool.

He did that in Z3 except there was no projectile effect. To tell the difference was that the lambda drive ver. left a giant whole.

He used normal ammunition in Z3, as the Lambda Drive antennae were not extended normally (they are now), and the shots were yellow instead of bluish like in this vid.

Then there's the Urd Strike combo attack where if LD is activated, Arbalest gains an extra segment.

In Judgement when he activated Lambda drive literally every of his attacks except his combination with the M9 Gernsbacks are enhanced absurdly in animation by the Lambda drive,

during the urd attack, one of the starting lines for them is their lines in TSR, namely: Mao: "You bastards ready?" Sousuke: "Anytime!" Kruz: "Anywhere!" Mao: "ROCK AND ROLL!"

I know almost all the attacks are the same as Z3, but like... These animations all feel much better than the last time we saw them. Looks like Banpresto re-tooled and tuned the arbalests animations. (Also I think the second knife attack is new, and the combo attack got expanded a fair bit.)

Compared side by side, it's mostly the heavier "impact" and lighting effects that makes the old attacks look better, on top of some movement changes.

I always thought it was cool how the Arbalest's weapon of choice was the SPAS-12. I have a particular soft spot for when mechs use weapons based off the real deal, like how in universe the Gundam Alex has essentially a beam version of the Famas, or how the Zaku II Kai more or less uses a retooled MP40. Hell, I believe it's either the Dynames or Kurz that even has the Barrett .50 cal!

The gun the Alex uses wasn’t a beam weapon. It was just a basic 90mm Bullpup like what the GM Command uses.

The Arbalest moves so well now. I think this finally beats W's animations of the Abalest for me, since it's more faithful to the anime.

Hatt0riHanz0128 Personally I feel W's animations are better compared to this one due to how it makes the arbalest feel more aggressive with its lowered posture while moving at blinding speeds (Though then again, the sprite was very super deformed). Still, there's no denying that the animations for this one has improved significantly and it no longer makes the Arbalest look like Godmars in comparison.

Not for me. Nothing beats knee kick into spinning second knife. That motion is so smooth that I can't believe they haven't choreographed anything to top that.

I think srw W still has the best Arbalest animation. Personally I like how they put the psychic punch into knife attack instead of the ultimate. The switch between knife and punch is so much more natural. In Z3 and V they put it after consecutive boxer shots and the animation as the result is very tedious and not fluid (a furious combo of combat knife and boxer shotgun and followed by few seconds of stationary animation showing him charging his punch, the momentum is lost). And on playstation they somehow just can't make the running animation right. In V they don't even bother and replace it with a long leap instead.
