A couple of things I noticed, at 1:00, one of the hurricane players is trying to return to his line so that he is onside and trips over the ref and falls over. The ref is moving about and focusing on the ball and doesn't appear to realise the player has fallen. What's the rules here? The hurricane player could no longer make a tackle, is it the refs fault? Should play have been stopped? They may have scored anyway, but that player was unable to make the tackle due to the positioning of the ref. The other thing was at 3:00, where the reds go on to score a try. The reds player appears to knock the ball on, it seems to hit the tackler and bounces up and looks to go forward. The play just carries on, and the reds player picks it up and scores but isn't that a double knock on? Shouldn't there have been a scrum?
@mierypesado6740
@mierypesado6740 3 ай бұрын
The first case it's the player's responsibility to be aware. He was the one moving, not the ref, he should be aware of where he is moving
@garethpearce5255
@garethpearce5255 3 ай бұрын
@@mierypesado6740 well they were both moving. If that's the rules, that's the rules. I know if the ball touches the ref, they normally stop play. Interesting, thanks.
@newremote
@newremote 3 ай бұрын
I agree that the Reds player has knocked on and the ball has hit the approaching tackler. I can only assume the ref thought the ball came loose in the tackle and went backwards. The ref is closer, of course, but to me the replay seems to clearly show a knock on. If the ball, or the player carrying the ball, hits the ref or another non-player, resulting in advantage to one side, then a scrum is called and the team who last played the ball get the put-in. If neither team gets an advantage then it's play on. Any other player making contact with the referee, it's play on. When it happens in-goal the law is a little different.

OFFS! How many times do head to head collisions have to happen before players learn? It’s been years now. Then there is the dipsh!t chorus of “ruining the game” and “rugby has gone soft” muppets who don’t comprehend the liability of concussion injuries. The NFL liability cost is roughly a BILLION dollars. Rugby doesn’t have that sort of money, and a lot more rugby players are likely to suffer concussion. Rather see retired players drooling on themselves until they die? We were all taught to tackle safely, waist and below, when we started playing. Why is it ok to tackle high, or more accurately, deliver a blow to the head, when players turn pro? Some people are incapable of learning.

Totally disagree. All the players need to do is tackle like they are taught in the U10s - head down, shoulder driving into the body. Standing upright like that is clearly dangerous. The one in the Chiefs game was lucky not to cause the guy to have a broken jaw or facial fractures, it was that bad.

That red card should not even be a penalty. Sport has gone mega soft
