The point in King Cold was to make you also think that he might be a genuine threat. First viewing, you are wondering the potential levels of both him and Trunks. Should have added to that confusion by saying things like “Ahh see, King Cold doesn’t even look shook” and stuff. You kept hyping up Trunks to make it clear he is important, which is obvious to us long term fans.

My theory was that Trunks was someone from another planet who had heard about Goku and his power and had come to earth to challenge him to a fight to perhaps test himself against Goku. Then he went Super Sayian and my theory went the window. 😅
