Looks great, I’ve been watching all your stuff with great interest as I’m about 1 month into my own van build and have really enjoyed your content. I was thinking of building my own unistrut roof rack to keep the costs down. Just checked out the price of the mule rack for comparison - gadzooks!

@@Rudedog1 thanks pal 🤜🤛 yer I nearly went with that option too. It’s just like big Macarno

Hi Matt. Great video. You are going to cut the ends of the tie wraps off aren't you?! That's clashing with my OCD (and will yours!)!! :)

😂😂😂 no left them all rattling around. Come on my ocd would be twitching to. Of course I did.

If you flip the brackets up the other way the panel should sit more or less flush with the unistrut. Less overall height means less drag. They're also less visible from the ground which might help reduce the chance of theft👍🏽
@abucklifeАй бұрын
Nice one. Thanks. I did look at that but I can only do that where the struts run in the right direction so 2 would be high and two low so decided on having them all the same height.

Great as always, defo getting a mule roof rack. If you didn’t have a panel on one side at the back, do you think you could fit a surf board?
@abucklifeАй бұрын
How long is a surf board?
@jameshoftonАй бұрын
@@abucklife it’s 6ft, but it’s more the width, as I will only have one fan at the back, so not so worried about the length. Your making such good progress, especially at the new little one has arrived, congrats on that as well.
@abucklifeАй бұрын
@ thanks James. Yer I think it would. The max air fan dome sits below the panel so with a bracket I think you would not have a problem storing it on there.

@ awesome, thanks man. Looking forward to seeing the next vid and artic adventures when they come out

How much has the tools cost throughout the build I’ve watched all your videos. I’m looking for a Van at the moment.
@abucklifeАй бұрын
Oooo I don’t know really I have a lot of tools and bought a few for the build specific. I think you can get away with some basic tools like a drill, jigsaw, circular saw and then specific tools like the palm router and rivnut tool. Maybe £300/500 as a minimum.

Not good to miss match panels, do 2x120 and 2 150 panels
@abucklifeАй бұрын
Just going on my system designers plans. But they are wired up in series on two loops not one so isn’t a problem. 👍
@holdenman8850Ай бұрын
@@abucklife you had 1x120 and 1x150 in series? that's miss match and won't give you maxxium output.
@jofftyАй бұрын
Hi Matt. Where did you get the panels from?
@HenryOCarmichaelSmithАй бұрын
Adding a 120 and a 150 in series limits the 150 panels output to that of the 120
@abucklifeАй бұрын
@ hi mate. I got them through bspk Solar but the brand is tigerexped.
