Don't ever change, James and Steve. Basic Brewing Video is criminally underrated!

Every time I throw a recipe together in five minutes - could even be a smash - it almost always turns out good and "disappears" fast. You are right. Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best. Another awesome video guys. Love it ❤! Cheers from PA! 🍻🍺

Nice video! Over in Cologne, the Kölsch tends to be crystal clear. In any case, as a homebrewer I am mostly concerned with flavour, so don’t worry and enjoy ☺️

Don’t fret about the clearness… as long as it tastes good, that is all that matters. Thank you for the recipe. My next brew.

Great minds think alike! I've just spent the morning brewing a kölsch, it's currently sitting in a keg waiting for the yeast pitch - 2575-PC Kölsch II. Thought I'd check in on today's BBR video and whad'ya know!

First, thanks for the recipe. And I'm glad that you maintained the sophisticated level of the episode, (whoop whoop nyuk nyuk) Does that mirror my own level? BTW, see if you can find the Johnny Carson show with Foster Brooks as a guest. He talks about being a passenger on an airplane when the pilot recognized him and had him do the preflight announcements. Great entertainment.

Ha! I'll have to find that one. I assume you've seen this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bommZHuZYtd0oc0si=32CpDJqYZu4yhvUH

Thank you for sharing! I always love watching your videos, and hearing your pleasant banter and classic references. This video did get me wondering though, what would you say is the ratio you and Steve have between drinking homebrew and drinking commercial beers?
@basicbrewing2 ай бұрын
It depends on what I have on hand. Cheers! 🍻

What temp did you mash it at Steve?

I believe Steve mashed at 150F (65C).

I think a Kolsch can be clear but I mean, a homebrewed one doesn't have to be right? Beer doesn't have to be complicated to be yummy, as you say. One of my favorite little styles is Patersbier which is basically this type of beer with a Belgian yeast. I try to suppress the Belgian character so it's there, but subtle. It's the same kind of thing as this Kolsch. Cheers guys.

Thanks, Don! That beer sounds delicious. I always say if you don’t like the way my beer looks, close your eyes. Cheers! 🍻

Why not try to pour it with even a little effort after brewing, bottling and setting up the cameras? Makes no sense.
