After thinking about it many years, I bought a ukulele after seeing one of the videos where you recommended them for rhythm practice. I have been pleasantly surprised that triads and R37 chords also worked well on my ukulele! Guitar Wisdom is also Ukulele Wisdom! Thanks for posting and for sharing your Wisdom 😎.

I tried that guitar model yesterday, what a surprise!! super comfortable, very nice fretwork, no sharp edges, and the switch for set in parallel the neck and middle pickups gives you a nice jazzy sound. greetings Tomo great video as usual!

Mr. Tomo, thanks for another great video. You don't just talk about the importance of triads, you demonstrate it by returning to them over and over. I've heard you say that reviewing is the best way to learn. Turns out to be correct.
@TomoFujitaMusic

You're very welcome! Easy to just introducing the material but its so hard to review correct way. Most people could learn quick and not enough reviewing so the right material could turn a little side way. That's why to master guitar is very difficult. So happy to hear that. Thank you!

Wonderful lesson as always. You didn't mention it, but the way you play triads with a pick and two fingers broke my brain a little bit. So much to learn from your channel!

Hey Tomo! Thanks for this video, it's really inspiring and also it gives me hope that maybe i can learn to play guitar too :) btw i didn't really understand why that 1-4-5 in D is the same as D-G-A chords? Can someone help me? Thanks again for your work Tomo!!!

Whole,whole ,half, whole, whole,whole half. This is the recipe for ALL major scales. All the triads Mr. Tomo is demonstrating are built on that pattern.
@nathanielvargas3863
@nathanielvargas3863 2 жыл бұрын
You take the D Major scale which is D,E,F#,G,A,B,C#. If you’re playing a 1-4-5 progression in the key of D major then you build the chords off of the 1st note, then 4th note and lastly 5th note of the scale which would give you D-G-A. Does that help at all?

@@nathanielvargas3863 Thanks a lot, everything's clear now. I'm really happy to learn new stuff about music theory :) have a good day everyone
@cgdoublezerorc

Because that's were the D-G-A chords come from. The order (degree) of the notes of every major scale determine the chords you would use. That's why it's called I, IV, V or as you wrote 1-4--5. Watch again when he plays the C major scale on the A string. Notice that the C is I, F is IV, and G is V. Good luck in your studies. Go back and find all of his triad lessons. He covers this "theory," over and over again.

Tomo せんせい、thank you for making videos and helping me in my musical journey. I watch your videos everyday before and after work as I am striving to improve my music skills. I understand the triads, the R,3rd, 5th etc. My question is how do I apply them during a guitar solo? Do you just play the full chords and the inversion over the appropriate chords C7 ( C, 1st inversion, 2nd inversion) .. I know using the notes 1 3 5 , sound good as a melody but, how do we use the triad during chord progression.
@TomoFujitaMusic
@TomoFujitaMusic 2 жыл бұрын
You're very welcome! First you need to master the triads. At least you need to practice & review them in two weeks. Don't expect too fast! Eventually you will understand how to apply these triads over any chord progressions. So try use only 543 set strings and go over any chord progressions that you love! That's first step. Please let me know how you feel after you do your part! Then I can make more fun triad related soloing lesson videos. Thank you!

I see a lot of lessons from tommy on triads are triads the key to unlocking the guitar?. I am an extremely frustrated guitar player and have been playing 10 years yet I struggle with simple stuff even now. Can't put the thing down though.

In a way guitar is easy to learn because all shapes... but it can stuck same place much faster than otter instruments. Guitar players are so many Okay guitar players & some great guitar players and not in the middle! Try simplest easiest thing but you need to review over and over with intervals NOT SHAPES! Please take a look on this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bma1nnmjh8yHn9k
