The Sonic Eagle is always a must have for fan made Sonic movesets, though I'd personally use that as his Forward Aerial and instead using the Sonic Flare (his heavy attack from the same game) as his Down Smash attack.

Looks great! That up special seems a lot like what happens with those big red rings in the modern games, and adding the boost is much like Luigi having the G-00 before its debut in Luigi’s Mansion 3. (Better than having a promo for Sonic ‘06!) I like Sonic not having the extraneous props- he’s a very physical sort of character. Same goes with removing FLUDD for Mario 👍

Yes! That is also how I feel about the character! My excuse this time for not including Sonic's spring and Mario's F.L.U.D.D as part of his moveset was due to reaching the poly-limit, but I'm also not really fond of him just summoning one from the nether and out of nowhere xD

I’m not sure you read my comment in the last video but you definitely delivered with the moveset so far! I’d reccomend switching the down smash with the forward air, as it’d make more sense and give him a SICK spike/ meteor smash! My only other suggestion at this time is definitely the forehead, maybe make the eyes a little smaller too? I don’t know, just mess around with some ideas and see what works! Can’t wait for the next entry dude!

Here’s what think Sonic’s alternate costumes would be, and because this a game for the DS, I think every character should be reduced to 4 costumes each and there would only be red and blue teams for team smash. Black and white shoes: lose reference to Shadow the Hedgehog’s colour scheme. Yellow and blue shoes: reference to Tails Prower’s modern appearance with the shoes being based on his eye colour Red and Purple shoes: reference to Knuckles the Echidna’s modern appearance, Sonic’s shoes being based on knuckles eye colour.

So for now, I'm planning on at least 4 costumes per characters. Some may have more. The red-blue-green color schemes are integral so those are a guarantee, along with their base color, or in cases such as Mario (who already has a red color scheme) would get an extra one. Some characters like Kirby would probably have more than 4. I will definitely address color swaps for every character in future videos! Look forward to them!

Good detail that Mario is actually smaller than Sonic. It probably suggests that Mario is in his small form the entire time in Smash DS.

I may tweak the heights as time goes on, but yeah, Sonic is a little taller than Mario in the other Smash games, it only makes sense. Canonically that is not the case, I know, but in Smash you gotta make the adjustments to make things look nice!

Amazing! Here are a couple stuff you could improve tho, make his eyes bigger so he doesn’t have such a big forehead, his eyes could be a little closer together, this isn’t mandatory but it’s a trick that modern games use which is hiding the spike in the middle behind the middle left and right spikes so he keeps the three spike silhouette while still having all the spikes. But still this is an amazing model, I’m a big sonic rush fan so having another sonic model for the dis makes me extremely happy! Keep up the good work.

This was literaly my dream as a kid, before Brawl i didn't knew about licensing and brands I had every Sonic game on the Gamecube, the same console with Melee Why wasn't Sonic in the game i just thought, and the DS was brand new, i just needed both Smash on DS and Sonic in Smash Plus, all your notes on Sonic are on point, kinda wish they used that mindset in the games

It will be its own roster, but yes, some newcomers who first appeared in Brawl (like Sonic) will make their first appearances here instead. There will also be a few original characters who weren't ever in any Smash Game :) Look forward to them!

@@retromesh Neat!! Also, when you add Donkey Kong to the roster, you should change his side special to be a barrel throw. There would be a 15% chance that he throws a steel barrel, which hits harder, and a 4% of him throwing a TNT barrel which explodes on contact with an enemy player.

Hello Leah! While I'd love to do a tutorial on modeling and texturing, it shames me to say that my work process is extremely slow! This model of Sonic alone took me days and hours to complete (given that a lot of that time was spent procrasinating). Needless to say, I am very inexperienced, and would probably not be the best mentor when it comes to that field. That being said though, maybe at some point, I'll be willing to showcase something quick and simple once I get further along in the project! I am so sorry about this! In the meantime, I'll be happy to direct you to a few other channels who could teach you this style of modeling, and modeling in general, one in particular being Blender Guru, he's a very cool guy who I have turned to alot through my Blender journey. There are a few PS1-style tutorials one KZbin which helped me in particular when transitioning into DS models, the style is a little different but the premise is the same. In case you're not aware, I do animation live streams where I showcase the models and rigs in full. If you're interested in simple animations, that could also serve as a guide! But like I said, there are farrr better people than me out there. My dream is to catch up them and maybe even surpass them! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

Sense this would theoretically be coming out at the same (or similar) time as Smash Wii, and both games would be the first Smash games to include sonic, they’d want a good first impression for him, as well as any other newcomers, so they dedicate more tri’s to him as special treatment. 1:49 also, could make the spring an alternative up special for when he’s grounded.
