Well king k rool was the iconic villain in the donkey kong series, so I'm surprised he never made it in yet(yes I know he's been missing for a while and is owned by some other company, but he was the main villain.) also, Ganon is the main villain in the Zelda games. And since he just got revealed for Hyrule warriors, I don't see why he wouldn't be in smash again.

shadowfang also, I don't see why wolf would be cut. Sure, his special attacks are similar to fox and falco's, but he's a lot more unique than both of them. I don't consider wolf to be a clone by any means, and I think his original moveset is more than welcome to smash 4. And since he's the main villain of star fox, I think that earns him a spot in smash 4 as well. Fun fact:wolf was supposed to be in melee at the end of its development, but he was replaced by falco due to fox and wolf looking to similar at the time.

Unrelated but I'm trying to figure out whether I should be playing brawl or project m to get ready for smash bros 4. I know it's different than both games but will playing a game that's faster (Project M) make it easier to play a game a little slower (smash 4) or will playing a slower game (Brawl) do anything to help me? I would play the one I like better but I really like them both a lot. Smash4 might favor defense like brawl though and just have overall gameplay closer to it which makes me want to play brawl but idk if playing a faster game will make you better at a slower game. Please help. Thanks

Oliver Mackenzie Terrible reason to play Project M over Brawl tbh. There is ledge guarding in both and tripping hardly ever happens and it's not even that big a deal to me

While I definitely prefer Project M over Brawl in regards to how it plays (I prefer faster and tighter gameplay), in terms of preparing for Smash Bros 4, I would recommend Brawl more, as the physics of that game are more similar to that of Smash 4.

It's one thing when it's the Nintendog assist trophy when it's the luck of the draw. But when I'm expecting it to be in a stage, periodically happening while fighting computer players set to level 7-9, I don't see myself losing fairly.

The Final Destination version of this stage could actually be the Black Bar only. Alternatively it could either be a blue Tron-like GameBoy floating in front a black background with red grids on the "floor" and "ceiling", mimicing the old boxart of the original GameBoy, or it could be a GameBoy-style Demake of the default Final Destination stage.

By the distance between Kirby and Dedede, I can assume that the gray border and the battery indicator are static and border the stage as for the stage itself could be zoomed in and out depending on the distance the distance the fighters are from each other. If not we would have gotten a picture showing Dedede and Kirby right next to side by side or on the edges. (assumption)

Haven't listened to the entire video yet but I imagine the stage working like this: gameboy turns on, boots some random game, stage based on that game for a few minutes, gameboy shuts off, bam new stage, rinse and repeat.

I'm really sick of people complaining and whining, saying 'Ehhh Sakurai why aren't you giving us more characters'?!?! I NEED TO KNOW IF NESSFALCODORF IS GOING TO BE IN THE GAME HURURDUR. There's this thing called secret unlockable characters guys, a good bit of characters in brawl were secret and weren't even revealed until post release. Falco, Ness, Gannondrof, Game & Watch, ROB, Wolf and Jiggs were all secret characters in Brawl, expect most of them to be secret in this game too. I mean I sort of get it if this is the first smash bros game you have been paying attention to in pre-release, but it's still getting obnoxious. If characters aren't showed off before release it doesn't mean we aren't getting them. Just look at the situation with Game & Watch, he's already been teased as an unlockable and will definitely be in. The franklin Badge and Mr. Saturn are items, we're getting Ness, Lucas or both. Ashley is an assist trophy, were getting Wario. Just chill guys, be patient.

I think a straight up Tetris stage would be really cool. It starts out as a flat stage, and then blocks start falling (in a randomized pattern, preferably). Getting caught under a block would be a unique KO, so you'd need to keep moving to stay on top of the rising stage. Ad then every so often, lines would be completed and the stage would revert to empty.

Over time, the battery light should go off and the GameBoy turns off on what game it is playing but keeps the platforms the same. You just can't see them.

i was also thinking about the legend of zelda showing up but i thought of the fighters standing at the bottom of the screen in a top-down section and while they can jump around,hitting an enemy in mid-air will hit you,and in the small stage the gameboy is,this can be fatal on large damage percentages. i also thought that while you can touch link when he is walking around, if he is attacking with his sword, only THEN can he hit you. also his items like the bomb only hurt you when exploding (of course) but knock you back kinda far but it is still possible to recover but it is really hard and you will take a lot of damage from it and will probably not survive long after anyways

Here's my thought: As far as the battery light on the side is concerned, I think it will turn off when the match ends. Maybe it could blink during the final five-second countdown and after the match ends, the screen goes black. It would be a much simpler idea than having it represent the 3DS battery.

One thing I can probably see them using for pokemon is where if you boot up the system with pokemon in the gameboy you can change the screen color with the d-pad to red, blue, yellow, green but knowing its the original gameboy it probably won't happen.

So it may have been mentioned a while ago but what is Sakurai's stand on DLC? Could we see a Legacy DLC that adds old characters that they didn't have time to put in? Ex. Fan Favorite Mewtwo? I assume like most Nintendo developers they really don't like to use DLC but I'm just curious.

if they did make a pokemon red and blue stage i think it should be based in the elite 4 and it would start out with the first one and he sends out a pokemon then it uses a move and effects the whole stage or effects the players. then it would go to the next of the 4 and it would use a move and then it would go to the next and the next and then finally it goes to Gary and he sends out one of his pokemon and he uses a way stronger move on the stage/players. also the moves will change every time that stage appears. kind of like spear pillar in brawl

Hmm... What if the stage were to advance through different generations on handhelds? Say you start on Tetris with the Gameboy, then move to Link's awakening on the GBC, then to Fire Emblem on the GBA, and so on? But then, sort of on the flipside, what if the intro movie for DS uses handheld gaming like 64 and Melee used figures and this is a preview of that?

Who's to say that it will just cycle through stages from different games? I mean, if you look at how the Game and Watch stages played out there were characters and obstacles from multiple Game and Watch titles all on screen at once causing all sorts of havoc. I am wondering if maybe rather than having a Super Mario Land stage appear and having only goombas appear maybe instead you would happen to see Waddle Dee or some other GameBoy game enemy sprite on screen. The backgrounds could cycle through multiple games and change the landscape, but multiple enemies and other objects from numerous GameBoy games could spawn from the sides of the screen. You start the stage and the Nintendo logo will appear, and then why not have a title pop up that says "Super Smash Bros" and then everything I typed above could play out... I mean in Melee the the Game and Watch stage when zoomed out, like the image you showed in the video, says "Smash Bros." on it like that is the title of the Game and Watch game. It could be the exact same concept for this because I assume when you pause the game you more than likely be able to see the entire GameBoy zoomed out as if you were holding it yourself. Cue that up with the title appearing at the start of the match and you have virtually the same thing.

Pokemon Red/Blue stage: It'd be in the battle scene, you can use the HP meter and text box as platforms, and dodge the attacks the Pokemon use like a spray of water or fire.
