Besides that though, I understand that Smash bros is a crossover, and sure, people are going to want their favorite characters in it. But what a poser doesn't know, is that the characters that make it into Smash, are just the icing on the metaphorical cake. And you shouldn't buy a cake to eat, just because your favorite color is on it. And that's what a poser is to me, some asshole who goes to a party, grabs a slice of cake, then only eats the icing, and when someone asks them what they thought of the cake, they check and make sure everyone else liked it, then say "It was great!" God, I only have one thing to say to these types of people. If you like icing so damn much, then go to the store and buy some damn icing in one of those packs, because icing only makes an appearance in this game-- I mean, on this cake. (I love analogy's.) None the less though, I think we see eye to eye, at least for the most part.

Richter Matthias Not to be rude.... but play a rhythm game on very hard. It is kinda like learning a new instrument. It takes lots of skill. Smash is a party fighting game you press buttons and tilt the stick for what you want to do. It takes almost no skill to play smash, but to master smash... It takes an intense amount of psychological and physical ability.

Belmark Art He is right though. A 2 year old can play smash. "Require" is a term used as prerequisite. Playing a rhythm game with no skill isn't possible because you lose after missing a few notes. In smash, the point is having fun.. not winning. Smash is easy to play with no skill, but difficult to master. It is a game for children and adults. Casual or competitive.

Lol why this dude hate smash so much? He kind of blew me when he said it requires no skill. To play at a higher level you do have to develop skills. If you just play casually (like the initial party game it was) as in items on, stage hazards, etc, yeah you don't really need skill. Smash is INCREDIBLY simple compared to other fighting games. Universal block. Not having to worry about what angle an attack is coming from. Very simple button inputs to do moves. Tech has gotten much simpler since Melee. Yes smash requires skill. But it's probably the bottom of the barrel mediocre skill it takes to be good at any fighting game.

Street fighter has changed DRASTICALLY over the life of the games so, I don't know what your point there is. Smash conceptually is simple. That's what I think the man is getting at. It's not like other fighting games (which is ok) but it simplifies a lot of the things that I think make a fighting game fun. Such as the fact that Smash has a universal block. In street fighter or virtually any other fighter. You have to worry about whether the attack is coming from overhead. Or is it a sweep. You have to account for these things and it beefs up the gameplay. Smash is just... Simple. Sure you can master the little amount of tech that is there. But after that you're done and you'll find that each character is played the exact same. Once you master the mechanics you master all 74 characters.

@@snawbird3587 The shield isn't that simple in Smash, it can break and when it does, you're wide open to a Smash attack and some moves do more shield damage like Jigglypuff's pound or Marth's Shield Breaker (actual name). And no, the characters are not "played the exact same," Marth relies on Spacing to get the tipper, Mega Man and Pac-Man are projectile-based, Captain Falcon is a rushdown-type, Incineroar is a grappler, Bayonetta doesn't even play like the other characters, Ryu is Ryu; no two characters play the same, even Marth and Lucina play differently and they have the same moves. There's more tech than you actually know, in Melee there was Wavedashing, Wave-shining, Shine by itself, L-cancelling, and short-hop fast-falling while Sm4sh and beyond have "Teching" where you press shield as you hit the ground to reduce lag, there's the Z-Air, there's Corrin's Instant-Pin, the big number of Shulk's Monado techs that are named with ridiculous acronyms, you have to understand how to use Jigglypuff's Rest if you wanna play as her. Keep in mind that there are also moves that can poke through the shield (yes, it's a thing) and that Shielding doesn't defend against grabs so it's easy to punish. Have you even _played_ Smash? Also, the fundamentals of Street Fighter have remained relatively the same and now, only SFV is seen at EVO while both Melee _and_ Sm4sh have been at EVO at the same time because they legitimately feel different to play; Melee is Fast, Brawl is slow, Sm4sh is somewhere in between, Ultimate is also in between but a little closer to Melee, you can't use Melee techs in any other Smash game. If you don't know much about something, don't make assumptions, _just do your research._ Also, even if you _can_ play as everyone, you often _won't_ because of Tier matchups and some characters not being Viable. Look at competitive Melee, kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3iblnSNqt2aj8U And then look at competitive Sm4sh, kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnKpi52VqKt_acU There's a very noticeable difference in speed.

Well this will attract a bunch of new fans to the smash brothers series. I'm kind of interested to see what other characters they will add with regards to the DLC packs, but regardless - it is going to make one awesome experience for all the smash fans and the wide array of characters they get to play as. I've only ever played the original smash game for the N64 so the series has never interested me but I'm sure a ton of people will get their fun and enjoyment out of this entry.

In my opinion, Smash on the hardest Difficulty vs persona on the hardest difficulty shouldn't really be a competition. Fighting games in my opinion are rhythm games with more complex pattern rather than doing the same pattern over and over again until you get it correct. Here's a scenario. Both players decide to throw themselves too the f***king dogs for no reasons, You have persona on its hardest difficultly and smash on its hardest difficultly. When it comes down to it, one has a pre-generated system while the other doesn't.
