Man, I agree. I bought a new PS3 controller to mess around with some games. I got Battlefield: Bad Company, Medal of Honor: Airborne, GTAIV, Rainbow Six: Vegas... they all suck, and everyone has those terrifying skinwalker plastic faces, very uncanny stuff. Within a week, I'm back to PS2 and plugging away at SOCOM 3.

The funny thing is that the “it’s just nostalgia” argument falls apart when it’s an older game you’ve only played recently.

Video was great, but I have one minor or major complaint: The part where you insulted gamers in a few parts of the “gamers” section, aka most of the audience watching the video really was a low-blow, and I am frankly sick of videos and under 1M YTubers doing that. 16:38 especially. While it is true some people say that as an excuse, not everyone uses it as an excuse. They could be deducting a reasoning could be for Sony making this decision. It doesn’t make them justified for making us pay for online since Valve is doing completely fine with free online on PC, even when servers are potentially more expensive, but there IS a reason. Personally I’m not getting online subscriptions given that I don’t have that much multiplayer to begin with. So the fact that you unintentionally lump those people like me and a few others with other gamers making excuses is… ehhh 16:57 As for free games online, this might have aged poorly judging by the date of the video. You do get free games to keep *so long as you have PS+ (although the games that get offered every month are random…)* 18:09 also saying that they are crying and calling them poor makes you look like the biggest jerk in this video. Regardless of what mistakes “we” made. As well as telling gamers to get a new hobby or get a job, like DUDE ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!!? YOU DO KNOW WHO IS WATCHING THIS VIDEO, RIGHT? *GAMERS!* which happens to be nearly EVERYONE watching this video. 20:08 but you called some people poor for not being able to afford $60 of online. You weren’t defending it of course, but still… And the whole FF7 thing being separate games. In some cases, those people are nostalgic. And calling people stupid and idiots like 100% of people caused the bad practices was just the biggest “F you” in this video. In all honesty, this entire part could be cut out and I would be watching this video a lot more often. It’s the biggest blemish on this video. If people are the reason why you hate a generation, ehh, it seems unfair. To me anyway. And this video gave me even more insight into why this generation had the highest highs and the lowest lows beyond performance and frankly, ugly graphics, in my opinion anyway.

the only racing game that i can safley state that i was betting millions of currency in online competitions and and actually means it without spending spending more than $300 for system, game, and internet.

X was my favorite Xenoblade game until Xenoblade 3 came out. Easily my favorite 8th generation RPG.

7th gen feels like both the peak of gaming and the downfall at the same time. Like, so many incredible games came out that gen. Red Dead Redemption, Super Mario Galaxy, Halo 3, practically every game Valve put out that generation, etc. but man did it have its pain points. So many brown and oily looking games. COD destroying the rest of the FPS genre, the beginnings of day-one patches, on-disc DLC, and microtransactions, Wii shovelware, pretty much everything regarding the Xbox 360 (from the hardware failures to the shift of focus towards Kinect and non-gaming stuff), Japanese companies trying to conform to western trends (most notibly Capcom). Compared to the 6th gen, its certainly far more of a mixed bag than many remember.

Yeah this is when i bailed on box consoles for handhelds.

This sounds just like gen 8 and gen 9 so far. Maybe a crash will fix and reset things and we can go back to the heights the hobby once reached.

I notice a pattern of every generation being more stagnant than the last one. Even as lackluster as this generation you may think it was, it is still FUCKING MILES AHEAD of this generation and the last one.

The Skell Flight theme should only play after you've reached a certain altitude. I think that'd be a great middle ground. Play at at a height where you're pretty much detached from the world.

It is going to take a truly lifechanging game to bump Xenoblade X down from my number one spot. Also the music overpowers the dialogue just as much in Xenoblade 2, but I play with subtitles, so it's never been a massive issue for me.

Running around aimlessly in Noctilum brings around 3.8 times more fun than a whole modern Final Fantasy game. BTW, I totally get your criticism for the flying music not being optional. That's why I, unfortunately don't have any emotional connection with Cauldros music, since most exploration was done by Skells. Too bad, since it's such a great piece of music, just like the others.

I loved this game so much, the music was great and the designs were cool, the problem came with the bar mechanic, which required precision and speed, something a 5-10 year old doesn't fully understand, and the extra events could come up at the worst time possible.

I kindly respect your opinion and you make some good points but I have to disagree with you on this one because I really enjoyed the 7th generation console era it was last GOLDEN ERA for video games and gaming in general before 8th generation and 9th generation took away of what we loved about THE GOLDEN ERA of video games and gaming in general and we rarely or sometimes get that nowadays because triple A companies and developers are afraid to experiment and try something new and be different from everybody else except for Nintendo because their developers are putting in that hard work IMO! I’m so glad that I got a Sega Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck to keep me company until the next GOLDEN ERA comes with isn’t going to be here for a long while until something changes for the greater good!

I just got this game and it looks like there is a lot more slowdown than your gameplay or my eye is fooling me, did you experience a lot of slowdown?

need this one on the switch because this is a sitting on the toilet kind of game. there's no way I'm gonna want to these huge chunks of exploration/quests/side content in large couch sittings. I need to slowly explore the world map 1 dookie at a time.

Yah XBC2 is definitely my favorite of the entire series. BUT XBCX is a great game and everyone that can should play it. It's VERY different from the other games in many ways but that's what's refreshing about it.. And the World of Mira.....One of the best and most beautfiul gaming worlds ever made. It's a shame it's stuck on ancient Wii-U hardware.

7th gen was the last good fun era, I miss when video games were niche instead of trying to make the most money out of. Wii u ps4 was average, switch is hit or miss while ps5 is non-existent. Starting to feel like I'm growing out of games.
