@@Goblin_Hands ok, but the gap between 64 and melee is only 2~3 years, and the improvement is incredible, with more polygon models, side b's etc. My favourite one is Ultimate, while second is Smash 4 etc.

@@yukkuri_ender Ultimate is cool, but I was spoiled with BrawlMods and PM, so it isn't that impressive. I do like the Belmonts and many new characters, but I'm surprised there are still modes missing like the 3DS campaign, or stages like Zebes, Rainbow Road, PAck Maze, Orbital Gate Assault, Jungle Hijinx, etc and I just can't enjoy Cloud without Sephiroth, as it is simply impossible. Melee has the biggest improvement curve, though Brawl added quite a bit too, like more important characters, Final Smashes, the only other cool final boss and campaign (Ultimate's kinda blows, and Smash 4's Core X thing or whatever is so lazy and uninspired). Most of the characters outside of Megaman and Pacman in Sm4sh were as pointless as Daisy, like Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Rosalina. I don't mean to hate. 8 player is fking awesome.

it's not his modpack but you could suggest that to the person/people that made the mod. also most of those animations are unfinished, and it's not very easy to make custom melee animations afaik

Hi! I made the mod. There is a video that shows what the unused character select screen animations would have looked like, but they were actually never programmed into the game. The video the demonstrates this was edited to show what it might have looked like. The game does not support this. Even so, the animations are very incomplete! Perhaps in the future, Melee hacking will develop far enough to where they can be added back.

@@Goblin_Hands I dunno! It would be cool to see Brawl 64, especially since Brawl modding is so far ahead. If a team were assembled for it, it could be an incredibly ambitious project! I'm not actively considering any more updates or mod projects, but it's always nice to get the requests and suggestions! With enough demand, it's likely I would explore more possibilities.

when i was young, i hoped for the day when modding this game would become advanced enough to the point where it could be converted to a complete n64 demake of brawl, with every character, stage, and (if possible) the entirety of the subspace emissary. at that point pretty much the only mod was the typical hd textures mod you see for every n64 game. now we are closer to that than ever, and the modding scene for this game is becoming very popular now. and now i am happy. EDIT: just realized this is a melee mod and not a smash 64 mod, but my point still stands

This is very charming and I do love all the hard work put into this since this has to be one of the few non-MagicScrumpy Melee mods I've ever seen. My only real nitpicks are the models are still a bit too high quality to be considered N64, Bowser, Yoshi and Marth especially are the bigger offenders. Also I'm not terribly sure how easy modding the game engine itself is, iirc Melee's is pretty damn spaghetti code and impossible to fuck with, but the more advanced movesets do throw off the illusion for me. Still, I hope to see more Melee mods in the future since it's a game not many people seem to want to mess with

The Panel de Pon stage has both Lip's Theme from Panel de Pon and Yoshi's Theme from Tetris Attack - every stage has two songs!

I think it’s cool that they did a Fire Emblem stage, even if it is barely recognizable as Fire Emblem(I think the grass texture is the same as Thracia, though I’m not sure). It shows that they put in enough research to do a Fire Emblem stage based off the most obscure Fire Emblem, but the fact that it’s based off a game that neither Marth nor Roy appear in make it apparent that the creator did not in fact play Fire Emblem.

Hey, so a couple things. Unfortunately, this is a texture and stage mod of Melee on the Gamecube and not a character mod of Smash 64. Characters are starting to be modded though! Falco, Ganondorf, and Young Link have all been modded into Smash 64 and have been featured on this channel if you want to check them out. Also, you can play mods on official N64 Hardware today. All you have to have is an Everdrive or a similar device that functions as an N64 cartridge but reads off of an SD Card. So you can play Banjo Kazooie Wind Waker and other games on official hardware if you are willing to spend the money! Hope this helps man.

Ok smash community I have an idea. Since Ultimate is supposed to be the last Smash game for a long time and I don't know how you would improve upon it other than small mechanics here and there. What if for the next game we were to get a Smash game like Subspace Emissary with the single player being the focus. Of course you would be able to do co op but with the focus being on that we'd be able to shrink the roster a bit and have more options on customizing special and even regular moves. With a shrunken roster we could get a B minus to c plus story (since making all those IPs work narratively would be hard). I don't know but as much as I love Smash I don't know how you continue it and it be different than the one before
