Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has many interesting characters to main analyze. Today I'm going to go over Why YOU Should Main Lucario in Smash 5 Switch or Smash Ultimate in a intro guide for beginners! SMASH 5 for Switch Hype!
(and as well give a VERY basic guide on his playstyle, what to focus on, and how to play him) all for #SuperSmashBrosUltimate
Ill be talking about Lucario's changes in smash ultimate (buffs and nerfs), how Lucario Gameplay has changed in Smash Switch and what you should focus on to get better at Lucario with a little tutorial mini guide at the end.
Later on I want to make more in depth character analysis videos and advanced character guides but we will just have to wait for the full release of smash ultimate wont we!

Lucario main since Brawl. He's a solid, all around character, yet the Aura mechanic gives him a unique sense of depth that encourages the player to just get in there, fight and survive! Sweeping a heavyweight's stocks at low percent when you've endured a ton of damage has a unique thrill that no other character has. Also my fave Pokemon, every Lucario I've trained in every playthrough of a main series Pokemon game that had Lucario available has helped me so much and i found it fun to explore its vast movepool. It's design is just outright awesome too. It's a martial arts jackal based on a death god and it has Jedi powers. Just a really awesome character overall. I refuse to drop him.

Just yesterday when I was playing Lucario I survived up to 200% so the aura and rage turned force palm into God tier since it had the range of the entire stage (the boxing ring in Boxing Ring) and did more damage than Phil Swift to buckets and boats.

Lucario is a character that took a lot of time to master in smash 4 due to his poor neutral game at lower percents, but using him was worth it. It boosted my read game like crazy since he depends on it so much for his kills. Try to get good enough to either trade or beat most competitive players you fight even without the high aura. Even in smash4 where he relied so much on the aura i still wouldn’t recommend getting hit intentionally to raise your damage, thus your aura. That’s stupid lol. & since he’s not so dependent on aura in Ultimate taking damage purposely would be even stupider 😂 try to trade, or if you can stay at lower percents than your opponent because If you’re winning without aura then you’re practically dominating the match. Then when you get the aura use it obliterate what’s left of them 😈 then if you are losing use that aura for the ultimate comeback. Lucario is awesome!

It is also a combo stopper at low percentage it's worth it, at high percentage it can kill but then becomes risky I've won like 1/4 of my games with counter kills it's awesome.

Alternate Meta Plays well maybe I’m having a hard time adjusting to the new game mechanics, but I feel like some of the changes they made were a bit detrimental. For examples 1. cannot hold a fully charged aura sphere anymore and it weakens the longer you hold on to it. (Can be helpful but not really) 2. They altered the way aura scales. Smash 4 lucario was so fun because the aura was so dramatic. Being able to get Super early kills if you could read your opponent. Taking away from that took away from your intimidation factor and makes lucario less dynamic, which is the whole point of aura. 3. Lucario was super heavy in smash 4 surviving most average knockback attacks up until about %140. In ultimate the mii brawler was consistently knocking me out at %90 with what appears to be a side B. 4. And lastly this is more of a petty complaint but the change to extreme speed is getting me killed so often by miscalculating and either sd’ing or putting myself in an easy spot to get knocked out. All in all I hate to complain because I am a true fan of the smash series but all these little changes add up and make him feel like a very different character to me. The increased air speed is nice and his new aesthetics are great but so far I’ve been a bit disappointed with my time playing him online 😕

To be honest I didn't play Lucario in Smash 4 much, but in this game he still seems really strong. 1. While aura is weaker, It still seems to be able to kill consistently around 60-70% if Lucario is at 93% or above w/ a well placed move. 2. His combo's and movement seem to flow super well together, even if kill potential is slightly less 3. Lucario seems to be a great pick against most characters, and not so great against others. Such as Wolf who has trouble killing Lucario is great, but playing Lucario into Chrom where you die at 90% seems to be a bad idea. All in all I love the character, and the design, but Ultimate seems to be one of those games where you will need a secondary character to cover you main's weaknesses.

When I first discovered Lucario was in Brawl, I was do surprised and excited. I've been playing Pokemon since I was four or five years old, and still love the franchise. The fourth generation games are my favorite. I loved the Lucario and the Mystery of Mew movie. And Lucario is just badass. He'll always be my main, and has been since I started playing Smash.

Since his damage and knockback at lower percentage increased compared to SSB4, lucario truly gained power in Ultimate. Aura sphere cancel was very useful back in SSB4. Aura Sphere to b-air and Aura Sphere to up-smash were powerful kill moves. And honestly, they still are. But Aura Sphere to n-air can also easily kill light-/mid-weights at high damage while getting closer to max Aura. At least when they're close to the edge. The only thing that annoys me is that Lucario lost much weight compared to SSB4. Staying alive and gaining more Aura is a bit more complicated because of this... Great Video, man. Lu was my main since the early days of Brawl and of course I still use him a lot. The Aura should never die!

I have been a Lucario main since brawl one of the issues I had with him was moment when he was at low % good luck 🍀 keeping up with your opponent since the majority of the cast can leave him in the dust even to the point where I would just get timed out which was so 😑, but I learned to use what I had and learn how to read my opponent’s movements punish with smash attacks and snipes with aura spear and when I use everything I mean batting with little to no aura sometimes which made me a bit unique in battles and back in brawl his ES was terrible could barely be used as a recovery and in smash 4 he was still almost the same from brawl except with that huge aura buff which was a blessing and a curse yeah you could one shot your opponent, but you are still slow and can’t keep up and man that ES was good for attacking and recognizing-ish but my goodness you can miss the ledge and die if you landed on the stage at any angle except vertical you are in sooo much lag your opponent can go get a sandwich 🥪 and charge a half charge smash attack I was really happy in Ultimate that he became more balance movement speed some of my friends had tried to think they could still out run Lucario like in smash 4 but not anymore and the little to no end lag on ES is a thank you 🙏 still have to get use to him being faster and being able to do sooo many different combos and options and need to get use to ES little changes get rid of smash 4 things all in all I’m happy 😃 with the changes and great videos

I've liked Lucario since Brawl. I didn't play smash 4 but I have ultimate. The thing thats tripping me up is his speed now. I haven't put a whole lot of time into him but I still enjoy him. I like how I feel like I can get the kill without aura. A fundamentalist character for sure. Neutral game is so important to him I feel. I've been putting a lot of time into King Dedede and I've been doing pretty well. Lucario is my second most played character and I may just main him in the future. I think you got most of the points to him for a new player.

Ultimate Lucario gets way too much hate. If you have a patient playstyle, this is the character for you.

His damage mechanic was fine IMO. His damage was a little under but as soon as you hit around 40 it's equaled out and 60+ you have the edge. So long as you keep roughly even early on, even as low as not having dealt half the damage the opponents dealt and didn't fall behind in stocks you were fine. Now it's roughly an eighth but he didn't get notable improvements compared to the rest of the cast.

As A Lucario Main. I trust the Veterans

I use very few characters; Samus, Corrin, Clowd, rarity Lucina, and lastly Lucario. I liked this little Pokemon Jackle for having a move similar to Samus's charge shot. Though I often struggle when not playing as Samus because I rely so heavily on Samus's down b to set up my territory or land. And Samus's killing nair and bair feel pretty easy for me to land hits with. And Samus's Zair is surprisingly good mix up off stage pressure. It can Knockback by just enough to get my online enemies to panic sometimes.

Yeah that will the others to be main Lucario. Im aready main Lucario. Im main with Yoshi, Rosalina, Lucario and Isabelle. For Isabelle i will always the last alternate costume.

My entire main history. 1. Bayonetta 2. Lucario 3. Ridley 4. Marth 5. Palutena 6. Incineroar 7. King K. Rool 8. Mr. Game & Watch 9. Snake 10. Zero Suit Samus 1 and 2 switch a lot, depending on how much I use them. Apparently, I'm starting to use Bayonetta more, but my Lucario days are still outnumbering them.

Should be mentioned that Aura Sphere Charge can be cancelled into anything on the ground. If you press shield within 3 frames or less while charging aura sphere, you can cancel it into dash, tilts, specials, and smash attacks. Things like Sphere Cancelled Force Palm Grab are true with correct timing, ASCFsmash isnt true, but a handy mixup for people who don't airdodge out of sphere charge. Utilt always hits the opponent unless they shield, and cancelling to dash is great for potential mix ups and approaching.
