Also I love how every single battle(except fighter battles) have a reference to it's spirit. For example, Bayonetta mainly do side specials with a Juri spirit, because Juri's fighting style is Taekwondo, a martial art which specializes with kicks, such as fast-kicking techniques. Another example is Donkey Kong + Professor Chops spirit. Professor Chops usually appears in checkpoints in Donkey Kong Country Returns, and if you lose too many lives on the same level, he suggests that Super Kong will finish the rest of the level without your control. That's why Donkey Kong appears white here, since this is how Super Kong looks like. it's also ironic that he can escape from movement disabling moves, since in DKCR, you aren't actually moving him at all. he moves by himself. It's pretty impressive how much effort the team put into these simplistic but clever battles!

@Luca Antinori More like hour's of stale gameplay for what's supposed to be. Nothing about this feels like a story or adventure mode. You're just walking around on a map battling spirits of the same fighters over and over again i can do that in multiplayer mode. No progression shown in a fun way, no real diffrenttypes enimes to fight, no transitions to playing with other groups of characters, no cutscenes that connects everything. None of that's here. Smash bros brawl shits on this game. It has a real story/adventure mode and gives u hours of fun gameplay at the same time. The game developers got lazy and really dropped the ball.

​​​​@@SlimKim3Dude, you're forgetting that Smash Brawl has WAY less characters then Ultimate. While I do agree more cutscenes could have been made, a story mode with 70+ characters would be unviable. No character would have proper time screen, everything would be a lot rushed, which would recieve much more complaints than what was done. It is a unique mode, it was never done to be compared to Subspace Emissary. Although I never played SE, I watched on KZbin a long time ago (the cutscenes, to be more honest), and honestly it's not perfect, not having some kind of dialogue was strange to me (not even written dialogues). I'm pretty sure Brawl has flaws, but because of your Nostalgia towards the story mode, you're not "seeing" it. I do respect your opinion, but saying one is worse simply because the story mode is not like SE is dumb, beacuse like I said, World of Light was NEVER meant to be like Subspace Emissary.

Am I the only one who actually likes World of Light a lot more than Subspace? Honestly I only liked Subspace for the cutscenes but this game has way better gameplay in pretty much every way IMO and the Spirits were awesome and challenging to fight on Hard mode and it felt like you were fighting the actual Spirit character at times. I'd rather do that than fight 100 boring enemies in a very long platforming level which tend to drag on, The Great Maze made me want to quit but I just had to finish it. Keep in mind that even though WoL is long and can get tiring, the mode isn't mean't to be played for hours non-stop, you can just stop after defeating a certain amount of Spirits and call it a day. The best part of WoL was (SPOILER ALERT) playing as Master Hand! This truly is the Ultimate Smash game and I am thankful for all the hard work put into it! Anyways I'll leave it at this, it's not like anyone is gonna read this entire comment and feel the exact same way as I do.

My M. Bison fight went like this. I used the Giratina (altered forme) spirit with Bomb Man and Ashley. I threw the bobomb, it reflected and hit me. I went off the stage and Ganondorf followed me to finish me off. I then jumped off his head by total accident and made him fall to his death. Was this fight supposed to be hard?

i originally believed the spirits sit in the hearts of the fighters, but later i changed that theory to being the spirit floats in the air using ghostly powers to control the fighters' brains because thinking about the good fighters using a poltergust on the possessed fighters to free their spirit sounds weird (i know you use a special gun to free spirits on the non-DLC spirit board, but still)
