I'm 62, and when growing up, I remember when women could not serve in combat or fly fighter jets. Then they were slowly allowed to do these things. Because of being allowed to fly combat jets, women could become civilian jet pilots just as quickly and thus in the same volume as men.

How strange it is then that my brother is a captain, and both he and my dad started out getting their pilot's license at the same time in the 80's. Dad stuck to renting small planes for fun on the weekends or after work. And then after the military, my brother continued on getting his hours in, and now is a captain, flying jets for a big airline. I'm pretty proud of him. Just wish I wasn't so afraid to fly. If I could fly on an Emerites a380 luxury class, I might throw caution to the wind. Lol

That wasn’t a flight control. It looks like the knob to the bleed air system for the cabin. I’m any case all you have to do is just put it back on and there’s a screw on the side and tighten the screw. Pretty simple.

Many people are worried that one of the levers dropped on its own. I'll tell you what it is: These are the handles of spoilers (shield on the wing that help slow down). Before landing, pilots set the control lever to the “ARMED” position. Then, when touched, the spoilers will rise automatically - which is what we see I'm a virtual pilot. Pilots are required to check that the spoiler is installed in the ARMED position before landing.
