It's just an observation, but it doesn't look like you need to build everything on foundations. The High Voltage blocks don't use them to transmit power (transformer excluded). The only things that need the Low Voltage power need to be on connected foundations. This means you should be able to run power poles between your satellite mines connected via transformers and pull up all the foundations in between. Belts also don't seem to have a requirement to be built on foundations. You can see that in the teaser video.

- you can deconstruct power lines, right mouse button bring up the advanced setting menu that allows you to change settings and for power lines it's either connect or disconnect - you do realize that factories and storage have several input/output ports so you could be splinting the output that way (as long as the demand of connected factories is lower than supply the goods would be split equally even without a splitter)

This is clearly done so one machine won't hold an entire storage bin's worth of supplies it doesn't need at once. It still gives you the option to manually dump supplies in, if you want.

@@UbilManther Ohh of course. I much prefer that to Satisfactory which does hold one full stack in the input buffer. It's just that a low amount in the input buffer is NOT an indication of the machine not being fed fast enough.

First things first. Set up an assembler to make foundations (you can thank me later). You're going to need 400 to build Lab II which you are coming up to very soon. Other than that, you need to start redesigning your layout to scale up future production (a lot). Its going to be much easier now with so little, rather than later with so much. Leave plenty of space between productions lines off your main bus. If you think you need 3 blocks space, make it 6 etc. On that note, you only need one line of foundation to connect the power. Fill the rest in with dirt/sand blocks (which you will mine as you flatten out the terrain for expansions).

Might be a better idea to rebuild the power on the side of your base with the hill, and the assemblers out towards the direction the solar panels are going. You've practically solved your power for the time being and it doesn't take a lot of space, where the assembers will inevitably need a ton of space with the introduction of splitters, having the loaders, and belts between the assemblers, you're going to need a lot of space for that. Just saying, planning ahead for that it seems like a worth while investment to swap those two so you're not having to plan and build around the massive hill you got, vs the more shallow hill. That way you're not spending a ton of time digging out that large hill to get all the space you'll need.

But it has the potential to be awesome once they refine it from player feedback. @UltimatePerfection2 жыл бұрын
@@Skellitor301_VA No, Satisfactory doesn't have procgen map. Not a true Factorio replacement.
@Skellitor301_VA2 жыл бұрын
@@UltimatePerfection You don't need a procedurally generated map to play Factorio. Infact there are maps in the base game that are not infinite and thus not procedural, and yet they give you just as much factorio gameplay as freeplay. The features that matter in Factorio is resource exploitation, building, automation, and expansion, all of which Satisfactory has in spades. Really the major things Satisfactory doesn't have are biter equivalent enemies and a way to counter them, and circuits. Both of which btw, a good chunk of the factorio playerbase either turn off or don't utilize. tl;dr the procmap isn't a major element of Factorio, you can play a premade map just fine.
@UltimatePerfection2 жыл бұрын
@@Skellitor301_VA Infinite!=procedural. And with static map such as that in Satisfactory, you play maybe 2 games of it, then there's no point because you know where everything is on the map.
@Skellitor301_VA2 жыл бұрын
@@UltimatePerfection Not really, the map is big enough with different starting places to make the game different with each playthrough. Plus they are actively updating the map. Also it doesn't matter if you feel that infinite doesn't mean procedural, that's not the point I was making. The way the map is made isn't the focus of the game, building a factory is. Also, again, factorio has prebuilt maps you can play on and still get the factorio feel. There are many ways you can make a factory in Satisfactory, and there are plenty of places to make factories in that game to with how big the map is. If the map was the downfall to Satisfactory, it wouldn't be as popular as it is. Because many people play for the factory elements, just like Factorio. The procedural element of Factorio is not necessary, you can just as easily play the game and have fun and replay value if the map was massive and static. Infact, IIRC the early builds of the game the map was infact the same for everyone you just spawned at different locations until they got procedural generation working.

The power tutorial showed that your HVP and LVP should be on separate grids, and you keep joining them together. I think batteries and solar panels go and the HVP grid, and get transferred to the LVP grid via the transformer. Also you can get the resources back from your basic smelters as well as the biomass. Also also the power poles can be put on the ground, they don't need a foundation.
