20:00 My boy. I think your river bet here was too large. Thinking about the hands that you are trying to get your opponent to fold they fall into several categories. 1.) Whiffed diamond draws which will fold to any bet. 2.) Single pairs like 33-TT as well as Jx hands which should all fold to more than about 40% pot. 3.) Qx which might get a little bit stickier but should still fold to a bet of 70% pot or more. Then there are the hands that your opponent MIGHT fold. Those include trips, straights and weak flushes. But these hands will only fold if they are at risk of significant pain if they lose (like if you were to overbet 2x pot or more). The issue with betting pot is that it's not enough to get your opponent to fold a king or better but it's probably more than you need to bet to get him to fold a queen. So when he has one of those hands he's never folding you just lose more than necessary. I think you bet $150 here and it accomplishes the same thing as betting the pot only you risk less. Feel free to provide any thoughts you have on this analysis?
@MarianoPoker3 жыл бұрын
I disagree but thank you for the input
@connman8d6173 жыл бұрын
@@MarianoPoker You certainly don't owe me any more of an explanation than that if you don't care to engage any further. But I was just considering what kinds of hands you would want to take a bet/check/bet line with for value and I was thinking you'd be betting a fair number of weaker hands for value here. Hands like AA/AQ would definitely be thin(ish) value candidates and if you have those in your river value range then I'm not so sure you should be betting so big for value which led me to believe that going so big on a bluff would be an imbalanced play. Just my thoughts. Thanks for your reply and keep putting out that awesome content.

Now that you mention it, that's actually really smart. At first I couldn't see the benefit of lying about the strength of your hand AFTER putting all of the money in pre. But If they both say they have Ace King and you say you "don't even have a pair" then that might make them think you're a maniac who overplayed QJ or something like that. And of they get there on you and you muck then they'll never know. Is this guy lowkey brilliant?

@willh43403 жыл бұрын
I would love to see what the solver spits out on the AK hand. I think you're wrong. I think you should be shoving that, hoping Matt folds, and isolating the all in. Worst case scenario, he calls, and you end up right where you did, but now you have to get through 2, instead of just 1

Something very bad happened at 14:16 when the dealer pulls off the yellow cover card off the bottom of the deck and exposes the card on the bottom of the deck as he is counting the remaining cards. Your camera picked it up and potentially you could have seen that card on the bottom which looks to be the 8s. Since the 9s is on the board and you're still in the hand this is extremely poor for the dealer to do this. This could be done on purpose to help another player figure out what cards are out. I know it may seem to be a bit of a stretch but the dealer should never do that.
