nice job, very nice in the realization, I would add two things: in the acrylic indicator I would make a small mark with the cutter on the lower surface where you made the red mark and I would go over the marker, the ink would penetrate the crack and would resist the rubbing that you have now avoided by holding the acrylic raised generating possible parallax errors. The other change I would make would be to separate the block of the base from the block of the adjustment: one or two knobs (if you want to do symmetrical things) to lock the base of the jig and another to adjust the bearing piece, so as to carry out the adjustment end when the base is already stable: since under the tip of the fixed part you have no support, the whole base could move while tightening the knob, distorting the measurement. ciao and i'll see you next time

Agree! But I will use a solid runner with 2 magnets embedded, instead of the slot (not much force needed to hold the jig). Therefore, only one knob to hold the adjuster arm :-)

I have subscribed to your KZbin for some time now. I think your jigs are very informative and well presented. I would like to build this thin strip jig BUT i dont subscribe to FB and the others you mention. I was scammed by one of these so now i dont belong to any. Is there anyway i can get these plans from your web site? At moment i am stopping video drawing what is on screen etc

Beautiful design and implementation. I am wondering though, could one use a feather board instead. It would not provide the measuring feature but once set for a certain width you could rip many strips of that size. I don't know this would work...has anyone tried it?
@plywoodworking
@plywoodworking 4 жыл бұрын
thank you, i dont know if only use feather board can precision or not coz feather board flexible depand you push wood and in this jig not flexible like feather board coz hold with bearing

@@plywoodworking Good point. I was thinking that one could turn the board backward and attach (if needed) some wood to extend it. Maybe one of your viewers will know. Thanks again.
