Oh man this is a dream from my childhood! I won’t shell out $75 for this but it’s fantastic that it has finally been made. My friends and I always thought the Blind Woodsman was Zartan, since he planted a bomb in SE’s gear. Will we see the giant, cobra-headed robot and the stone idol who wrestled in the Pyramid of Darkness next?
@IffyJottere Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure why the bomb only went off in the base (or almost at base, but that was averted thanks to Timber and Cover Girl), but I'm certain neither the Blind Woodsman nor Snake Eyes knew the Cobra canister was rigged to blow after a time. It was just convenient 80s toon drama timing that made it go off when Snake Eyes got home.

It was disappointing to see Hasbro refuse the idea to go back and make o-ring figures of never made before cartoon characters like I suggested. The compromise was to make less articulated figures and was suppose to be a new wave but cheaper to start a younger generation of collectors (cheaper than the vintage I mean). Kinda a father/son idea. "These are dad's figures and those are yours and hey dad wants one of those new ones too." A way to enjoy the show again with your kids and buy them their own figures without paying the high price of the vintage ones or giving up your toys to them. Plus the enjoyment for the kids to get a new one in the store like we did. However, Super7 didn't market them like this and got lots of negative feedback. Glad they made what they did. I think the never been made cartoon accurate figures make it a fun addition to my collection. Not as much as if they were o-ring but size wise they still fit in. I also suggested Col. Sharp and Admiral Ledger and many others. I noticed they made lots of unique ones and I hope they retain the focus and Keep making them. !!! It would have been much better if Hasbro had made a new o-ring line of these unique figures. I think, just maybe, we opened a few eyes at Hasbro as to the unfilled market for o-ring figures and vehicles though. Down side is they have to get thru the Classified demand before a real effort can be made I think. Yo Joe! P.S. I have this set too. I also miss the o-ring articulation in the figures but love the set for its uniqueness. Thanks for all the great videos. You are a talented creator.

Timber's not articulated. You'd have to do a custom Timber.

Oh WOW! Not really happy about the poor quality of the human figures, but I always ALWAYS loved the Blind Woodsman from MASS Device! Never forgot him from the day I rented the videotape of this miniseries when I was a kid! He and his huskies saved Snake Eyes' butt in the Sea Of Ice!
@BobHansenJokes Жыл бұрын
Tremendous set despite the figures! I actually like the Blind Woodsman figure but yeah that Snake Eyes is rough. The one they made where he's just blue and gray like the early episodes would probably look better, but that 25th glowing one is great! I didn't know it existed. Glad to see the Joe pups get some mobility :)

Yeah the original Super7 Snake Eyes looks much better. Too bad we can't use Cobra's shrink ray on their Joe Ultimates.
@jameslohr4943 Жыл бұрын
Thats a bummer that the Snake Eyes doesn't glow that well. I've been tempted by this for a while (mainly for the glow-in-the-dark figure) but this video has served as a cautionary tale to warn me off. Thank you for all the great content!

I guess if we have to give a name to the Arctic Medic figure, a good codename could be "Ten Below", kinda has the same energy as "Deep Six" and all

Strong enough to carry a human and a full grown wolf under each arm? Well he is an Icelander which is home to some of the strongest humans on the planet. And honestly if I ever find this set at a discount I’ll get it but mostly to make it into a custom Santa Viking figure set. Lots of good potential for that 🎅🏻

They should've painted all the huskies a different color.🤔👍🏾 And Timber should've came with this set.
@IffyJottere Жыл бұрын
I agree but pretty sure that they kept them all the same color to stay on-model with the original scene.

I have a question: does someone buy that ReAction GI Joe figures? It makes no sense, for me. Because the Joe collectors attached to vintage mostly buy O-ring figures that have more articulation than that figures.
@Gijoeandstarwarsguy Жыл бұрын
Hey Michael, I love the super7 5 poa offering! Now hear me out: I don't like the 5 poa for sure, but: these are a current great offering compared to whatever the hell hasbro is offering with their modern o ring terrible defective figures! The reaction joe line has lots of characters, frequent releases, lots of variants, obscure characters, great card and box art and content! No legalese on the packages! Great card quality and presentation. They are also obtainable easily! The cost sucks, but I buy all of them and leave them carded. Hey, I imagine that if these were o ring figures I would have spent 10x the amount of money I already do on these!
@BayushiGemma Жыл бұрын
That price sucks but the concept is cool! It's a shame they didn't make these with the articulation of the old Joes but I do like the Blind Woodsman as is here. Hopefully they reuse the head in the future on an articulated version.

Your Snake Eyes action feature is really disappointing. I wonder if it would work at all under black light? It looks like that’s what Super 7 used their promotional photo.
@purplebeard1526 Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but these Super7's while cool, without the articulation of even the G1/1st 2 waves (aka no neck tilt) GI Joes are a pass for me. It feels like I'm buying a lesser product. And some of their generic characters are kind of off too. That was one reason I never got into the Star Wars line back in the day as much as I loved the movies or the idea of having toys from it. I could do a lot more with GI Joes.
