The idea of a Super7 reissue/remaster of the Trendmasters Godzilla figures is so awesome! Especially if we could get a wide release of Doom Island or Godzilla the series figures.

There’s been controversy around this release? Huh. I mean I can understand why, but I’ve always had a deep admiration for this design. My Dad owned both it and a Rodan when I was a kid, and I used to always admire them as they sat on the shelf in our garage. Unfortunately, times became hard, so my Dad had to sell both as a result. I’ve always wanted to find a version of both, Rodan included, but it’s getting trickier to find with the rising prices. That said, I already bought two of this guy and they’ll make an excellent placeholder until I can get my hands on the real deal. Oh, and great review dude, do not regret my purchase now.

Controversy as In, Scalpers and people just being a little upset that this was the next major, American Made release. I get It, but at the same time.. I really don't. But Hopefully future releases from them will quench people's thirsts! On the same wave as you though, trying to find an original Godzilla and Rodan from Shogun Warriors.. odd as sin designs, but oh so cool!

Also, with Super 7's original background as a magazine that covered vintage Japanese toys and produced sofubi, I'd say they will be going in something along those directions, rather than any Trendmasters style stuff. I expect to see a lot of Marusan, Bullmark & Popy inspired stuff, along side of their 7" highly articulated figures... which I'm very curious to see what direction they choose to go in with.

Aye man if that’s the route, I can’t say I’d be upset with it lmao seeing designs and colors like those making a comeback in a style, way and price that’s more so affordable and easier to get your hands on…. I’d be totally fine with that! Super fine with that! I too am very curious what they’re going to be doing with the articulated stuff.. that’s why my mind went right to the linked of Trendmasters. But I’m up for a surprise on their part 👀 Especially with how well this thing turned out!!

Last year, I found a 1st Gen Shogun Godzilla in a Goodwill thrift store for 6 bucks, missing his shooting fist. I actually had one in the late 70's. It was the Christmas of Godzilla and Kenner Star Wars people. Probably '1978.

I had the original in the 70s as well and in my opinion this is by far the coolest G fig released in many years.What a great start to the companies Godzilla license. Maybe they will make a Shogun Rodan and Godzilla gang line as well 😉

Never been a fan of Super7's bad on purpose retro designs. I understand that there is a market for them with GenX and older Millenials, but I guess I am just too young to get the appeal. Still I am glad that the people who want that sort of thing can get what they are interested in.

Well although not my Kinda Thing it actually is quite impressive seeing a Modern-Retro(is that even possible? xD) Remake of this Figure. I've actually seen this Figure only through MIB soooo yeah xD (Insert: *is he licking or Shooting fire at me?* line here) But nice Review as always! ^^ And while it was Mentioned in the Video i hope Neca gets the rights again so we can get more Big G figures from them (I want a 1974/75 Goji Dammit xD)

Glad you enjoyed It either way my dude! Yeah, even though I joke about It, I too would love to see NECA return to the franchise. But, like I told someone further down, I don't think It'll ever happen. Randy and Co. seem a little more than upset with Toho for allowing them to bastardize their Shin Godzilla mold without so much as a warning. Granted Toho technically own It & people can make up and be friends again... IDK man. If they do come back, like I'd love for them to do, I'd really hope they'd pick up where they left off and CRUSH THE COMPETITION. Believe me... I want NECA back coming for SHAM's throats lmaoo

Judging by their last speaking of Godzilla on Twitter, they still don’t have the license and they don’t sound too happy about Toho allowing Playmates to use their Shin Godzilla mold to reproduce a figure. So, I don’t think NECA Godzilla will be making a return anytime soon. Unfortunately.

Not going to lie, Im glad we are getting this instead of NECA. Honestly, my opinion on NECA has soured over the past few months. When you look at how awesome their xenomorph and predators are, its clear they didnt put nearly as much effort into Godzilla. MEZCO came straight out the gate with figures that look infinitely better, Mondo's revealed figures so far are great, and Super 7 is looking pretty good so far. NECA honestly kinda sucked. Even NECA's subsidiary Kidrobot, a company I normally LOVE, fucked up the Godzilla line. When FUNKO makes better figures than you, thats a problem. So yeah, Super7, Mondo, and MEZCO really excite me and NECA can shove it. Besides, I already loved Super7 for their reaction figures, specifically their figures for Ghost, one of my favorite bands.

I’ll certainly miss NECA, as I feel they were finally, fully coming into their own with the last 2 figures they released. But to say I’m all sad and no hype would be a lie. Both Mezco and Super7 have had a rather strong start so far, still reserving judgment on Mezco for when the DAM Boys finally show up (I know I’ll more than likely, like them) but despite all that.. I will miss NECA and KidRobot’s offerings. Would’ve been nice to see them go on for another few more years.

@@ShinRobjira They have been gettiing better, I will definitely agree, but the fact that it took them, what, 6-7 years to get to that point when most of their other figures have been extremely accurate from the gate just says laziness to me. That being said, I certainly dont dislike NECA's Godzilla figures, I have quite a bit of them. Im just glad we are getting companies that are putting in more effort to accuracy. Hell, even playmates with their last two releases have been pretty impressive in the accuracy department.

As of right now, these are sold out and were exclusive to “Comic Con at Home”, last week. Super7 hasn’t said anything about a restock or if these would be sold again. The only option it seems, is eBay. And that’s all scalper garbage.
