I had the original big boy as a kid. Loved it so much I slept with it, which looking back was lucky I didn’t get popped in the face by the firing fist. I recall the head being able to slightly rotate, almost like it wasn’t supposed to. Both hands did rotate. May have to pick this up as a tribute to the original that I wish I still had.

I think I was just like you and probably slept with mine on a few occasions too! Haha..! I still have mine in storage somewhere, so I can't wait to revisit him again someday. For the meantime I have these smaller version which fill that void and are more easy to display. Hope you can pick up one of these Ultimate Shogun Godzillas too!

For what they're getting for these. They could have made an exact but smaller replica. Complete with the screwed in yellow toe plates with wheels and a better job copying the tung and fist.

Yeah! I was on a budget at the time and missed out on it. Definitely wish I could've picked it up, but all the other exclusives from SDCC tapped me out for 2023..! :(

this makes me wish i still had my 2.5-3 foot tall shogun Godzilla with the firing hand

That one is now hard to come by in mint condition, but not impossible. Of course it's pricey now and not around the $20 it was priced at back in the late 70s early 80s! I still have mine and I love it like crazy, which is why I had to also pick up these! A huge part of my childhood! You can still have all the fun of those old jumbo shogun Godzillas at a smaller scale with these cool figures by Super7!

I had one way back, and recently found one in a Goodwill thrift store. It needed a toe plate and fist. I got those repro'ed from Shogun Plastics before he went crazy with his prices. All-in-all, I paid less than $50 for the figure and the repro parts about 5 years ago. Shogun Plastics now gets over $50+shipping just for the fist. They look OK but are poor quality.
