Mutagen Man is an awesome figure. There are not many figures released this year that are better than him in my opinion. He's unique, articulated, imaginative, gross, weird, and an utterly batshit insane design. Everything toys in the 80s were all about. I love him.

Amazing reaction! I wish I had this fig as a kid instead of the OG 1. As a kid I thought the instructions were to mix the mutagen (slime) w/ water & then put the other accessories inside of Mutagen Man? When you shake him up the stuff floats around inside & it glows in the dark, that way.

When I was little the most exciting part to me about this figure was the little trash accessories that came with it, and filling the figure up with water and putting the parts inside of it and looking at them...🤗💯✔

i remember my mom taking me to a particular k-mart back in the late 80's early 90's to K-mart & vintage Mutagen was there. Sadly that same K-mart is now a Burlington.

Nice review Toy Bro! I wasn't into TMNT by the time Mutagen Man came around so it looks like I missed out on a great figures as a kid. He's definitely cool looking and I'm glad they brought him out on Wave 2. Outside of Leo, Bebop is probably my most anticipated figure from this wave. I'll be looking forward to your review of him soon.

I wish he had more paint to him. Looks slightly cheap compared to the turtles. Maybe a paint wash to the exposed muscle and skin. Maybe have the purple be metallic. I think a repaint might make him look a little cooler.

This one is really tempting but I already have so many figures from so many TMNT lines and brands. On top of that I'm buying every figure from the Neca Cartoon line so I'm sticking with the four turtles, Shreder, Bebop, Rocksteady, Splinter, Krang and a Foot Soldier from the Super7 Ultimates TMNT line. Mutagen man is on the Foot Clan side but his allegiance is forced. He needs the Ooze to survive and in exchange for it, he battles the Turtles and their allies. He should have been given the Foot Clan packaging.

Huh. I thought Super 7 mentioned that the final version would have painted guts? Also a bit disappointed to see that some of his exposed bones aren't painted either (such as his left knee). I was hoping Super 7 would do a bit more to “upgrade" the typically lackluster paintjob Playmates gave the vintage figure here.

I've had other people ask about the guts and I wasn't able to find anything definitive. This is accurate though, so I'm cool with it. I didn't expect them to be painted going into the review either way.

Can you open up Mutagen Man body at the seams? Is that why you can see an obvious break at the seams and connector pipes inside his glass?

I put all the little bits of garbage in him. Not a problem for me if they don't come out again as they're pointless if they're not inside him anyway. Not sure what use anyone would have for those parts other than have them inside him. I also took the extra one's off the yellow rack and put inside him too. Otherwise the rack with parts stuck to it are rather pointless and just end up in a draw somewhere.

Not being able to fill it with water is lame. That was the whole point of the original. It looks dry inside. They could have at least filled the tank with a clear plastic to make it look like water. So disappointed.
