What is a Portal Gear Lift and what does it do? Our GDP Portals give you a gear reduction to give you your torque back after installing bigger tires. With 15%, 30%, and 45% gear reductions available, you can customize your portals to fit your riding style and tire size. The bigger the gear reduction, the bigger tire you can turn and the crazier the terrain you can roll over. Go with a smaller gear reduction to maintain a higher top speed and when you only need to turn tires that are a few inches bigger than stock. Go between if you want to do a bit of everything.

Well put together video for the installation process. I didn't realize you needed a press to complete this install, good to know as most individuals do not have a large press laying around in their garage.

A press is not totally necessary it just makes the install easier. There are other ways of putting in the wheel studs.

@@SuperATVMedia This is true, I used some washers and cranked on an old lugnut, this seated the studs nicely. No pounding with a mallet or hammer.

Great video guys!! I'm saving for the billet 4 inch lift for my yxz. I'm pretty sure it's going to be one of the first portaled yxz's on the East coast. One of my first big trips when it's completely done is going to be Moab.

Well this has been an experience, I'm almost finished. Going to end up taking me over 12 hours to install. I'm NO mechanic, I dont even change the oil in my rzr, I have the dealer do it. A couple notes for the newb shadetree mechanics like me (these are probably a given for more experienced people): Get a couple big tables, lay EVERYTHING out on each side of the vehicle. I spent over half my time, searching through bags and boxes of parts and correct tools than actually installing the portals. I spent way too much time walking around the vehicle to get parts and tools. This video has been instrumental in the install, I've added at least 100+ views during the install lol. Order is important, you have to remove some parts to easily access other parts. Follow this video. I tried jumping ahead a few times and had to back myself out. The newer stock rzr front brake lines are held to the arms by tiny rivets (WTF Polaris). So your going to need a rivet gun to add the new brake lines. I would not suggest zip ties here. Passenger rear brake line was not even close to being long enough, I could not get enough slack to put the protector shroud back on. It is what it is. Driver rear, had miles of slack for some reason. Thats all for now, can't wait to get in the hills to try these things.

What a great way to lift your rig buy 4 of thease gain 4'lift and lose ton of handeling .love how you dont need ton of extra up grades it uses the oem breaks pads drive shaft i wouldet mind a beefier longer lower radius arm but if if the ones on rig run fine i would not bother me

When you did that build on the blue RZR XP was it completely stock with no upgrade aftermarket parts

The only thing that unit had done at the time of this portal install was SuperATV 1.5" forward a-arms. The rest of the machine was stock.

No, there is an intermediate gear between the pinion and spur inside the portal.

Ok I have 2 sets of portals. I'm putting a new set on now it says to torqe the recess nut to 120ft pounds. of course no one ever shows them doing it or how. wondering because my axel will spin. if you try to put a pipe wrench on axel to torqe the recess nut it will just scratch the piss out of the axel also the instructions say to do the same thing but no inclination of how to actually do it the proper way. putting a impact on it is not getting a accurate torge spec? please answer or upload a video of the important key parts of the install.

Hey there! If you're working on the front portals you can turn the power on to your machine and lock it into 4x4 and it will lock the diff. If you're working on the rear portals, be sure to put your machine in park. That should stop the axles from spinning while you torque the recess nuts on. You can also wrap a shop rag around your axle in the future if youre trying to put a pipe wrench on it, that should prevent scratching. All depends on tire size, if you keep the same tires you had on the machine before installing portals yes your top speed will decrease. If you go with a larger tire after portals are installed you can retain your top speed.

Sarah Nation. These have steel braided brake lines and robust banjo fittings, as long as it’s just hanging there not getting banged around or yanked on it will hurt absolutely nothing. But I guess there’s always that one guy/girl who has to find a fault, even if it’s ridiculous.

Strait up took me about a week working 3-4 hours. Most of time was spent getting steering box out. I also did rack boss steering rack. To install i had ti take my winch out and shocks out to give me most working room
