Superb Sea Fishing at Nells Point in Barry!!

A notable South Wales Cod fishing mark on the Bristol Channel, although Nell's Point in Barry is not as popular with sea anglers as it once was. I still love it though and always look forward to going back as it usually throws up a nice surprise or two! I am fishing on the far left-hand side of the point, where it merges with Jackson's Bay. Species I have caught here previously include Cod, Codling, Thornback Ray, Conger Eels, Rockling, Whiting and Pouting...anything can turn up though! Great to see that codling Gareth. What a great session. Like you, I take comfort in living in the past…..often find myself thinking about years gone by. Hearing your stories about your dad often brings back memories of the days me, my brother and dad went fishing in many of the same places you often visit. Hi Gareth just watching you on nells point I used to fish the white light back in the late 70s used to catch the train from up the valleys and stay for the weekend always caught lots of whiting pouting and congelooking at you there brings back many happy memories please keep up the good work and keep the memories

I was born in Barry, grew up in Sully, Cogan and Dinas. Left in the 80s, live overseas now. Fished Jackson’s bay, penarth pier, sully island etc with my mates, we were young lads we’d cycle down. Fished charter boats and fly fishing lakes with my Dad who I miss greatly. Great session and great vid, cheers.
